I’ve got Frostblitz Legendary Armor. It came with 3 affixes: +97 intelligence, +3 mana per second and +3 to frost nova. And I imprinted an aspect on it.
How does tempering fit into this? Would a tempered effect replace one of these affiixes or the imprinted aspect? Or would it be added to them?

Tempering adds additional affixes to what you already have, up to 2 additional affixes. You have a limited number of re-roll attempts on tempering as well if you do not get an affix you like.
5 re-roll attempts for non-ancestral items. Up to 8 for ancestral items (5 + the number of greater affixes on that item).
Enchanting, on the other hand. Allows you to re-roll one of the initial three affixes on an item (intelligence, mana per second, or +ranks to frost nova in your case) for a different affix at random. Unlimited re-rolls of that selected affix with costs increasing to a cap per re-roll.
