Topic…most of the time I’ve searched…I don’t ACTUALLY get a definition on what it is. Thank you for any insight.

…and see all the people who exploit a game mechanic or outright cheat to get miles ahead of anything you can possibly achieve, i believe

A ladder is in a season.No one really knows how D4 seasons will look like, but in general , when a new season starts, it usually has some sort of theme, like extra rewards or extra stash etc.
When the new season starts, everyone starts from scratch, whether a new character or rebirthing one of your regular characters.
You don’t do the whole campain again, rather you level up by gaining experience by running quests or clearing dungeons etc. There are always some sort of quests you have to achieve to gain the seasonal rewards.
Does this make any sense?

It does thank you. I’ve done a few D3 seasons so I think I have the gist of it…I didn’t realize it was a competition though 
…well…for those who cared about it that is.

just a way for people who are competitive to brag. Just usually fairly flawed because its normally time gated or party gated. Best to just play the game, have fun, and dont join in on what makes the world become toxic.

Ladder is a bunch of Bots and cheaters competing with each other. Has nothing to do with any legit players.

Along these lines too so far a “Ladder” isn’t planned for first seasons. Ladder and Season can be separate.
Seasons can have Ladders, but they are not needed or the full focus of seasons.

ladder = seasonal leaderboard, climb to the top, first to reach level 100 and so-on, top 100 top 1000 players, whatever
could be more metrics that govern it in d4, but thats the basics
it is meaningless so far, unless there is some kind of cosmetic reward/achievement tied to ladder placement
