Concern with "Provocation" Passive

Provocation - When you remain in werebear form for at least 30 seconds, your next skill will overpower.

Okay… but there are only 5 werebear skills, so any 6th skill you pick takes you out of werebear.
Meaning you have to ignore using your 6th skill by choice, or only use it outside of that window, just to get an extra overpower.
This doesn’t flow well for engaging gameplay and the 6th skill isn’t being used to its potential when you can’t actually… use it.

Easy fix would be for companion skills active button to not turn you back into human form.
But at this point I’m just not bothering with the Provocation passive even though I’m full Werebear build currently.

It’s designed that way because a Unique chestpiece exists that turns your “true form” into Werebear, effectively giving you “provocation” permanently. At 3 points, it’s 20s. imo, they need to un-nerf it back to 25/20/15, but what do I know?

There’s also a Unique helm that grants Earth skills as Werebear skills. Solve the ENTIRE problem you think you’re having. It’s already been thought of.

It is somewhat lame to have a passive that is entirely dependent on a low drop chance unique item.

They make all the overpower stuff kind of annoyingly conditional. Have to kill 20 things for the boon overpower (post nerf), have to remain 80%+ hp for 12 seconds the pulverize overpower, have to remain in werebear for 20+ seconds with provocation.

You don’t need to be in Werebear form for 30/25/20 consecutive seconds for your next ability to overpower, you just need to be considered as in that form for 30/25/20 seconds total – that is, if you had rank 3 of Provocation, stay in werebear form for 10 seconds, briefly drop form to command your stranglers to, well… strangle enemies, then go back into werebear form for another 10 seconds (which is as simple as using maul against thin air), your next skill will overpower, since you’ve been in werebear form for 20 seconds.

Ah, I haven’t played since the weekend, but my session must have been bugged.
At that time I tried every companion skill and nature skill and they all made my provocation counter disappear and restart to zero.
But it’s working now!
I do wish it didn’t trigger on basic skills now. :frowning:

Remaining at 80%+ health for pulv overpower is quite easy. Heck, I’m able to consistently get my overpower going with extra fortify as icing on the cake. And this is while shifting forms, majority of the time I’m human, then I go wolf/ bear. Yay.
