- Does thorns proc if I dodge the hit?
- Does thorns proc if I block the hit?
My thought is that necromancer can stack dodge and block chance and if thorns does indeed proc even though you dodge or block that’ll be huge.
It’ll have huge implications for summoner thorns builds if it works that way. Because your block and dodge chance is now granted to your minions at 100% as well.
Thanks for the insight if you know either answer.
From my experience with a thorns barb on season 1, you actually need to be hit to proc thorns.
If you pick up a protection shrine fun stuff stops happening the whole time.
However barriers would proc thorns. You don’t take damage cuz the barrier absorbs the hit, but you still get hit.
I will wager that…
Dodge = No thorn proc
Block = Thorn proc

I’m hoping you are wrong bc it’d be way more fun if you are
Thorns only proc when you get hit. The advice for thorns builds is don’t equip gear with dodge as dodging does not proc thorns.

Do you think blocked attacks will proc thorns?
The dodge chance might get baked in more for survivability then. Sad it won’t double dip but with 12 bodies we gotta keep alive times is tough.
I’m hoping necro gets a proper thorns shield unique soon. Maybe something that bypass invulnerability at like 10% damage rate
Thorns is essentially damage reflection. If you take damage your thorns amount is reflected back at them. Block is only a damage reduction stat right? So you should still take damage and therefore cause thorns to proc.

Yeah I’m gonna still roll dodge chance on boots. I have a feeling the survivability will be worth it in PvP.
Makes minions and me way more tanky in a non DR related way. Hidden DR modifier basically
Hidden modifiers more important than ever for PvP.
