How it works

Enchantments are the worst class feature of all the classes so far. Part 3 will cover an updated version of existing system while this will discuss a possible replacement.

Working title is Grimoire of Ancient’s Enchants.

This will similar to the Necro or Druid class specs but can be changed to be more in the form of enchants. Basically you have 5 or more enchant slots that can be equipped with spells from the Grimoire. Which are books from the ancients and spells that come from them (as best I can remember them). Basically in class quest you go and find an ancient book so🤷‍♂️.

Enchant (spell)

Book of Esu

  1. Esu’s Fire - Skill adds/applies x burning damaged
  2. Esu’s Insight -Pyromancy skills have x% critical strike chance.
  3. Esu’s Flame - Monster with 50% of life or more of burning damage inflicts nearby enemies for x% burning damage.
  4. Esu’s Pulse - Burning damage is applied as direct damage every second (3,000 burning damage per second becomes 3,000 direct damage every second [can not stack]).
  5. Esu’s Revenge - Once every 12 seconds all burning damage is consumed and applied as direct damage at one time.

Book of Vyr

  1. Vyr’s Radiance - Using a cooldown stuns all enemies for x seconds.
  2. Vyr’s Magnetism - All enemies hit with the same cast of shock skill or crackling energy are pulled together and take x% damage.
  3. Vyr’s Defiance - Absorbing crackiling energy provides a barrier (max crackling energy is equal too x% max life [no less than 100% max life]).
  4. Vyr’s Cruelty - Gain x% critical strike chance and x% critical strike damage to stunned enemies.
  5. Vyr’s Currents - After the first shock skill hits an enemy each addition skill that hits the enemy deals increases damage taken from you by 5% increased damage stacking up to 25% for x seconds. Can only happen once every x seconds.

Book of Li-Ming

  1. Li-Ming’s Heart - Skills apply/add x% chill. You do 1% damage for every 10% chill up to 9% and 18% damage to frozen enemies.
  2. Li-Ming’s Escape - Killing an elite or staggering a boss resets teleport or adds stacks to teleport. You can stack up to x charges this way.
  3. Li Ming’s Breath - More than 75% chill on an enemy makes them vulnerable. You deal x% damage to enemies that are 75% chilled or frozen and vulnerable.
  4. Li-Ming’s Wall - After enemies become unfrozen you gain a barrier equal to the damage you dealt while they were frozen for x seconds (can not exceed 150% max life).
  5. Li-Ming’s Power - You deal x% damage to unstoppable enemies or bosses with 50% stagger protection.

Book of Tal Rash

  1. Tal Rash’s Elements - Shock skills do x% damage to enemies affected by frost skills. Frost Skills do x% damage to enemies affected by pyro skills. Pyro skills do x% damage to enemies affected by shock skills.
  2. Tal Rash’s Balance - Gain 30% damage for having 2 skills of each element on your skill bar. (Must have 2 shock 2 pyro and 2 frost skills to activate).
  3. Tal Rash’s Unity - All skills on your skill bar (except defense and ultimates) inherit each others aaffects (burning,chilling,crit strike chance,crit strike damage,vulnerable damage,stun,immobilize).
  4. Tal Rash’s Protection - Casting a defense skill resets a defensive skill of another element on you skill bar that is on cooldown.
  5. Tal Rash’s Devastation - Pyro skill free casts a non defensive/non ultimate frost skill on your skill bar. Frost skill free casts shock skill. Shock skill free casts Pyro skill.

Book of Lilin(Possible daughter of Lilith/sister to Rathma)

  1. Lilin’s Fury - All Skills gain x% attack speed and x% crit strike chance
  2. Lilin’s Embrace - After critically striking an enemy gain a barrier for x% of your max life for x seconds
  3. Lilin’s Burning Rage - You deal x% burning damage per second 20 yards around you after casting a pyro skill. Each consecutive cast or each second channeled stacks burning damage not extends.
  4. Lilin’s Cold Shoulder - Freezing a burning enemy explodes it for x% damage.
  5. Lilin’s Charge - Teleport now uses x mana and is a pyro skill and chills.:man_shrugging:

Book of Typhon (I know not a person)

  1. Typhon’s Spear - Lightning spear now costs x mana. You and your conjurations deal x% damage after it stuns an enemy. (Will need aspect to gain this enchant for free to use with Vyr’s set up possibly).
  2. Typhon’s Rod - Lightning spear has x% chance to pull enemies hit by the same spear together.
  3. Typhon’s Blade - Ice blades final hit impales into the enemy for x seconds. You and your conjuration deal x% damage to impaled enemies.
  4. Typhon’s Icicle - Ice blades now has x stacks and chills enemies.
  5. Typhon’s Hydra - Hydra has a cooldown and 4 stacks. You and your conjuration deal x% damage to enemies burning from hydra.
  6. Typhon’s Serpents - Hydra Gain x attack speed and a random skill is reduced 1 second each time hydra hits an enemy.
  7. Typhon’s Health - When you taking damage x% of damage instead takes a head of a hydra.
  8. Typhon’s Beasts - At 10 conjuration stacks all conjurations explode for x% non physical damage.

Use

You get possibly 5 slots. You can use 1 from any book but if you do you can’t use a second from the same book. You can choose 5 from the same book but you can’t use 4 and then 1 from another. This system is so you can dive into one type of element or spread out over several. I’ve only listed about 5 per book and only a few ideas for the number of books. The thing about this is it can actually grow into different things over time.

You can add to Necro, Barb, and Druid books also so these can expand and this system can too. The enchant system as is stinks and can’t grow or change and doesn’t offer devs room for adjustments or players room for variety. Maybe something like this would be better.

Again just ideas that seem good but I’m not a dev nor have I crunched numbers. Im just hopefully giving someone a spark or starting point to give Sorcs something worth using and variety.
