Combat Text... !?

For the LOVE OF GOD, please give us the option to hide combat text !!!

Would be great to get a confirmation that the devs hear us on this and, hopefully, plan to address it?

If not, I may die from hemorrhaging of the eyes when they rupture from reading so much text! Vulnerable! Dodge! Fortified!

I like to try and read it all. It’s fun.

My favorite is when I get poisoned by a bunch of spiders and all I see is

Fortified Fortified Fortified Fortified overlapping to the point it’s an unreadable block of text.

Yes these needs to be addressed.

AT least fortified, we can see that on the health globe, don’t need a prompt.

That would help for now.

Plus 1 at least mention they acknowledge it and are working on a fix.

I actually enjoy the game and this, is worse than stash space imo.

I dont hoard junk, game is not intended this way, if i kept every possible build combo for every alt i would need at least 50 tabs lol.

Just reminds me one ā€œcontent creatorā€ muppet has a tab full of sigils… thanks for lagging the game for now real reason, lol.

I agree, this to me is definitely more important than stash space. It would be great just to get an acknowledgement that they will address it or are looking into it.

It makes me wonder… does anyone at Blizz actually play this game? I mean surely someone there plays it right? Surely someone there finds it as annoying as I do!?

I also don’t see how they overlooked that they built an option to hide all combat numbers and have an option to toggle loot names, but the combat text itself !? NOPE. (O_o)

And add combat log to our so cslled chat.

Another feature a small dev put in a a game.

Torchlight 2, i just got it on sale , and when i saw this, feature i laughed so much.

D4 Has let me down sadly.

I just want damage numbers turned on. I don’t need Vulnerable and Fortify text as there are very obvious visual indicators for both already.

You also have a Pet in TL2 you can send to Town to sell stuff in order to spend more time playing.

That is true, not sure if it suits D4, but the fact basic features like text on/off cant be patched in, and we are now in season 1 is a bit of a what the…

Not even D3 launched with such horrid text prompts.

Surly the coding to fix this cant be that bad.

Same with the camera, should be a simple asset tweak, allow player a couple more levels of zoom in/out…

:person_shrugging: its just frustrating. waiting for these fixes. that

A. should be in a game that goes GOLD.
B. should not be done on our time.

Bump for season 2 QoL !?

I really don’t like the combat text either. I’d rather focus on the spell animations than an overlay of a word.

UI & UX

Improved item sorting and overall organization by adding Stash search and Stash filter functionality.
Improved Streaming functionality by adding Streamer Mode, which hides sensitive information such as Character names or Battle.net usernames.
Improved organization by displaying Item affix tooltips in a more intuitive and consistent order.
Improved organization by grouping Extracted Aspects with the same Legendary powers together when sorting in your Stash and Inventory.
Improved navigation functionality by adding the ability to auto-run. When moving in a direction, the player will continuously move in the direction faced or where the cursor is placed until another movement is activated or a skill is initiated.

Just posting this in the recently necro’d Topic in case people look at it and share the sentiments - an FYI: it’s BEEN addressed.

I’d love for it to be completely customizable. I only want to see crits.

Yup, one of the better changes for people who it drives crazy.

Don’t we all?

20chars

I am very happy this was implemented! It used to drive me crazy on my rogue spreading vulnerable to nearby enemies.

I do have one critique of how it was implemented though. I would prefer to ALSO have an option to show damage numbers only. Currently we can only hide all, show all, or hide numbers.

Just a question here. Does the fact of having combat text (vulnerable, dodge, fortified) as text feel like the cheap way out to anyone? As in, why isn’t it a visual or audible que of some sort an option vs spamming text? I know fortified changes your health globe on the hud. But what about vulnerable? Why can’t the enemies get an aura on them or maybe another damage number color when damaging vulnerable enemies, similar to overpower? Just thinking there has to be a better way to provide that feedback than spamming players’ screens with text?

Actually, vulnerable already has visual indicator on mobs. Their healthbar is tinted in purple when they are vulnerable.

Ah! I didn’t realize that! I’ll play closer to attention to that. I haven’t noticed it prior.
