I had a golden and blue aspect extracted from an item.
I understand that gold (yellow) is from sacred legendaries and blue is for ancestral.
However, the gold one had maximum stats on it and the blue one was off by 2 in my example.
Is there a downside for taking the sacred over the ancestral in this case? Does the final item inherit something different if one uses sacred aspects over ancestral?
I don’t really understand the purpose of these colours if there isn’t, because to me it looks like both sacred and ancestral aspects are maxed at the same value, so it isn’t as though on is better than the other.
All they truly need to do is make it so that ancestral aspects could be a bit better than sacred. Then they can keep the colour, the price difference would make sense and it would give people incentive to look for ancestral aspects over sacred.
The difference is that the ancestral ones roll ststic damage numbers not by %. The % ones it doesnt really matter. But for the static ones, like icy alchemist for rogues, the damage will have higher roll ranges.
This is true. It does not matter if the Aspect is from a Legendary, Sacred, or Ancestral Item. The Aspect Roll can roll within any range and Item Tier has no bearing on the chance to roll higher or lower. It is far more expensive to Extract Ancestral than it is Sacred, and Sacred is more than Legendary. It does not matter the Tier, you can apply any Tier to any Tier of gear.
This is an old remnant that needs to be removed. Ideally, they would redo the Codex system so you can Add Aspects to your Codex and Upgrade what is in your Codex sort of like Glyphs.
Thanks for all the replies, makes sense. I was just wanting to make sure there are no non-obvious side-effects to picking a weaker aspect that has higher values.
