Collector's Edition Finally Fulfilled - Wrong Address

I’ve previously posted about my order continuing to be “Unfulfilled” but I logged in today and it says “Fulfilled September 15, 2023”

Woohoo!..right?

Well, here’s the thing. The Fed-Ex ticket link next to the fulfillment status actually shows the entire delivery was completed back on June 16th. What the heck? Where’s my box?

Oh hey, there’s a picture of the box. Next to the garage. Of the house I moved out of last year.

WHAT??! How did you do that? I moved from Washington to Texas in January. I ordered in February. My billing address and shipping address are my Texas address. I was charged Texas taxes.

In the fed-ex ticket, there are entries from when the package was in Mesquite, TX:

Thursday, 6/8/23
6:36 PM
Delivery exceptionIncorrect address - Apartment/Suite number
MESQUITE, TX

That’s interesting.

Monday, 6/12/23 5:56 AM
At local FedEx facility
MESQUITE, TX
5:59 AM
Shipment exceptionBarcode label unreadable and replaced
MESQUITE, TX

What?

So two huge problems here:

1.) The Blizzard site failed to update my fulfillment status with fed-ex information FOR THREE MONTHS. It was delivered in June, my fulfillment status with link to fed-ex tracking was JUST updated two days ago.

2.) Somebody messed up, or multiple people messed up, in shipping. It was clearly coming to me in Texas. Clearly. And then somehow somebody said “let’s use his old address from last year that’s in a completely different state” because someone can’t read my address properly? I am 1000% certain my address as written in Blizzard’s site is correct. That’s where Doordash comes to and those people are half braindead most of the time, so if they can find it I would expect a company that specializes in shipping to be able to find it. It’s just an apartment. In an apartment complex. Pretty standard stuff.

I cannot express how enraged I am.

This is my last post apparently last month I checked and it was still “Unfulfilled” on the site. Collectors Box is STILL Unfulfilled

ugh such stuff is annoying, happened to me a few times in the past as well that the delivery said it was delivered but as it turned out, to whatever adress. (sometimes even the wrong town)

Go contact Blizzard via the support tickets, theyll have to work this out with fedex. (assuming you did everything correct on your part)

Heads up, such issues can be fixed.

Clearly not my fault. The Tracking Ticket shows the package went from UT to NM to TX, sat in Texas and errored out multiple times for over a week worth of updates, then went to WY, OR and finally WA.

I don’t think you send a package from Utah to Washington that way, so if you try and play devil’s advocate that the address was always my old wrong address in WA, that entire trip history would make zero sense. Also I lived in a house in WA so you can’t even have an invalid Apartment/Suite number since there wouldn’t have been one.

They clearly had my correct Texas address and failed to deliver to it for whatever stupid reason (also not my fault, I guarantee it) then somebody made a bad decision that cascaded into whatever the hell this nightmare is or when the shipping error occurred a system with outdated information was polled and my old address was returned from that outdated system.

Considering that the fulfillment status took 3 months to update for me to see the ticket at all, I wouldn’t be surprised if I guessed the actual real thing that happened.

yea as i said while it doesnt seem to be blizzards fault, but the delivery company, you should for sure file a support ticket, as they can contact fedex and get this sorted.

I bet money it’s Blizzard’s fault. I would almost guarantee that Fed-Ex ran into an issue with my Texas address for some reason (probably also Blizzard’s fault) and when they systematically polled Blizzard’s systems, they got outdated information and Blizzard returned my old address from before I changed it.

well an investigation from blizzard and fedex will show what happened, and youll hopefully get your collectors edition soon =)

Did you update your shipping info? Did you double check that everything was updated? That has happened to me where I didn’t update shipping info in something I had used for three different addresses. It was still set to my original(as I rarely got physical items).

You should also read my first reply.

I swear, between you and the guy posting that its probably on craigslist in texas after I already mentioned it was delivered to the house in Washington…I’m starting to lose faith in 100% of people.

If you’re going to comment. At least take the time to read what you are commenting on and maybe, just maybe, understand it.

They dont read they just skim and then comment after they feel like their opinon matters

Any chance you reached out to someone at or near the old address to see if they actually had it?

Just wondering.

Not sure how I would feel if that had happened to me. Hell, mine’s still in the box. Haven’t even opened it yet.

Happened to me last year with a boardgame. Ordered 2020 from Kickstarter , i moved in 2022 and changed the address correctly. They send out to the wrong address.
status said delivered so i reached out. Turns out the packet was returned to sender and reshipped two days later.

Hope you get yours soon.

lucky you, at least you can still get a refund for this garbage

I’ve had some real issues with FedEx especially FedEx Ground. I tracked a package on its way to my house. It made it into the town I live in and to the FedEx delivery center. Even though they’ve delivered here before they sent it back to the warehouse where it came from. The warehouse shipped it again and it was delivered. That process took two weeks. It’s not the only issue either. There have been several other time where things were late or damaged.

I’m sorry to read about this.

I can say from experience that when I bought my house and moved that FedEx took it upon themselves to disregard my new address on the package and instead delivered to my old house. I was really annoyed by this but at least the operator at FedEx admitted to me that they did indeed ignored the packages address label and delivered to my old address…

I asked why they would do that but pretty much got the telephone version of a shrug.

My post from last month got deleted? Lol.

Anyway, I got the update from Blizzard Support:

Firstly, I’d like to clarify that the picture of the FedEx delivery you mentioned in your email indeed showed the package in front of the garage of your previous residence in Washington State. This was a grave error on our part, and we are deeply sorry for sending it to the wrong address.

Additionally, you are absolutely correct in pointing out the delay in updating our system. The discrepancy between the fulfillment date on our website and the actual delivery date of three months ago is entirely our fault, and we understand how frustrating this must have been for you.

We have taken immediate action to rectify the situation. I am pleased to inform you that we have issued a full refund for your order.

I’m sure that refund will go to the wrong bank account.

Nope,
fedex will redirect to another address on file with your name if the labeled address is unreadable or incorrect.

I had something that was sent to my work address in my name. the shipper sent it to an old work address, Fedex delivered to my home address. The sender does not know my home address only fedex.

Call fedex and explain what happened. Also whenever you move always remove you old address from fed-ex / UPS account records. (not just add your new address remove your old one)

I’m gonna be honest here man. I shouldn’t have to do any of the things you just said and I have never had to in my entire life. I’m in my 40s and I move a LOT (I recently updated my spreadsheet of every address I’ve ever lived at, it’s 28 rows) and this has never happened to me once.

Also your theory would only be possible if everyone had unique names. I can’t imagine what they do for John Smith’s invalid address then. “Hey guys, this address label for John Smith is invalid, what do I do?” - “What other addresses for John Smith do we have on file?” - “Oh, there’s about 80000 of em” - “Well, pick one and put a new label on it!”

Also it’d be a really weird idea to be like “Hey guys, every time we have invalid labels, just find a previous address and send it there. Surely they just bought a second residence, right?” Sounds like a great way to guarantee wrong delivery to me. Which sounds like a great way to destroy a company that specializes in delivering stuff.

The more that I think about your response the more I think you haven’t even thought about it. It makes absolutely no sense for a shipping company to guess the destination of a package nor determine, unilateraly, its destination. That is solely up to the sender. If there is an issue with the label or address, you as the shipping company contact the sender and say “What gives…” and then they correct whatever the problem is. In this case, I am betting money that Blizzard was asked to fix the label, and they gave them my old address because they looked up my information and got back outdated information because they suck at updating data in their systems. Which would go hand in hand with the fact that it took them THREE MONTHS to update their system with the tracking information. I guarantee this was 100% on the seller side. Shippers do not guess where packages are going. It’s either a valid address or it isn’t. If it isn’t, its on the sender to fix it or take back the package.

I’m gonna do the following set of things:

  1. Big old “nope” to your list of nonsense
  2. Blame Blizzard
  3. Acknowledge that Blizzard themselves completely accepted the blame
  4. Never give Blizzard money again
  5. Look into deleting my battle net accounts
  6. Move on with my life

Thank you all for your emotional support during these traumatic times.

Your collectors edition reached the same place this game did, the trash can of someone who doesn’t care.
