Clunky Doors in NMD

Been running a solid amount of NMD for chaos rifts and whatnot. Why are doors still a thing in NMD? Like, it just slows you down, especially the ones that slide down and are still solid while opening. Pit has no doors, and it has the same dungeon structures as NMD. So to some extent, they know a cosmetic choice slows it down. So why not just nuke doors in NMD?

How about every dungeon is a straight line with a button at the end that says “GIVES LOOT” and you click on it?

The button is essentially the boss at the end, most high-end builds on t4, you just run into them and they die. Never said they should be straight lines either, just a better system for doors. Even just auto-opening them.

Clicking on doors is annoying.

It’s always got on my nerves.

iuno, i dont see the big problem with doors. Yes, you have to click on them. Pretty much in every game where buildings and doors are a thing you need to do that. does that mean they need to get removed?

Only thing i could see is reducing the amount of doors in the cellar type of dungeons eventually, but thats about it. Or speeding up the animation time as OP mentioned on those big stone doors. Or: Let enemies open doors as well?

Doors are the worse, especially the ones you have to keep clicking to open or stutter like they’re stuck.

The game is full of illogical elements, so it only makes sense to have dungeons that are filled with doors that kill the flow and serve no real purpose.

Geez if people didn’t talk about them, i wouldn’t even know there are doors in NMD. They’re so inconsequential, i can’t even remember seeing them in any dungeons i’ve done this season.

Why do people come to this forum and cry about trivial things? Let’s say there were real dungeons. Would there be no doors? Of course not. OP needs to accept that there are doors in the dungeon and move on.

That will be excellent!

My issue with NMD is whether I am gonna see another Blood Bishop or another Blood Bishop.

Sometimes I get surprised. It’s a Green Bishop!

It turns out my graphics card just bugged out.

Certain nmds I won’t do because of this. Halls of the Damned is one. Must be a hundred fkg doors in that one.

Your original post specifically said getting rid of doors altogether.

Essentially you want to get rid of the element that provides the tiniest friction possible in dungeons, and now you’ve more or less stated that the boss is inconsequential, too.

What would I expect other than you want a straight hallway with an “I win” button at the end? Where did you start this thread if not from a point of wanting ultimate efficiency?

I can’t believe there is another DOORS topic… :weary:

I swear,

I’d rather the Dev’s work on more Glaring Issues then making an announcement saying to the Diablo Community

“HEY GUESS WHAT, WE GOT RID OF ALL DOORS IN N/M DUNGEONS!!”.

I’m sorry, that’s just embarrassing. Leave those doors alone, this is a fantasy game which is suppose to be (for the most part I believe) AT LEAST realistic as possible.

Sheesh…

I’d be happy if they just let me Leap over all doors. You can in certain dungeons and can’t in others. Makes no sense.

Also, I think Merc AI should be adjusted to run in front of you and open doors in Dungeons.

I support this idea of the butler merc. Might be even more powerful than Subo!

If I have to kill every mob on a dungeon level, then doors become moderately irritating, but not enough for me to care.

If I don’t have to kill every mob, then I’d just soon bypass the ones I don’t need to kill, & doors make the process much easier.

aesthetically I absolutely love NMD’s, and that includes their doors! They are hands down the best, second only by D2 dungeons.
Though D2 beats them on gore and the fear factor… nothing quite as scary as opening a door to an elite pack that all shoot lightning balls at you at once in catacombs level 2-3.

I agree it’s very annoying on certain dungeons. And the fact that you can’t even teleport into a room before opening the door. And some of them are really bad where it’s like a 5 second animation you have to wait for. ahole design.

I’m anti-door the way we have to use them. Why not make breakable doors or doors that open as you approach.
