For me, when going into Options during gameplay, pressing the circle button does not close the screen. In fact, whilst in any of the tabs in the Options screen, pressing the circle button does nothing: it doesn’t Close or Cancel. There only way out is to long press the PS button on the controller and Close Game.
Is this for everyone else?
BTW, my controller is working fine and the circle button reacts appropriately everywhere else in the game.

Just noticed that the circle button also does nothing when pressing to Skip Conversation. I’m betting that it probably won’t work as a Skill button either once leveled up.
Giving up as it’s just unplayable as it is.
