Class feels weak?

May just be me, but I’m doing slim to no damage, fights are taking an excessively long time. Not sure if this is due to Blizz randomly deciding to stat squish or not, but this expansion feels off…

What’s your build? What difficulty are you running at?

leveling with quill volley on hard, I’ve tried poison as well but everything seems to just drag on

Played pure jaguar and did close to nothing.

Changed to evade hawl feathers stuff and suddenly i breeze through expert like nothing.

Yes, Jaguar feels really weak. Which is a shame because it is fun. The other 3 are good. Stacking cooldowns and even minor amounts of thorns makes Gorilla super strong. Poison gets really strong endgame with aspects. Eagle has a lot of range and mobility. Jaguar’s basic is good for getting Vigor but that is it.

I switched to gorilla stuff after I found a razorplate at early levels. That carried me through to the 50s before it started to feel weak.

If you temper all your gear, especially offensive and weapon tempers you should be able to breeze through leveling content on hard with any build I’d guess.

Also, make sure you go and do your class quest when you can. The spirit options can make a huge difference.

Running Rock Splitter/Quill Volley on mine and it felt okayish, though sometimes sluggish…then I added Ravager to the mix, swapping out Vortex, which I had been using. Day and night improvement.

Ravager passively increases your attack speed (by 15% at Rank 5), and its active effect adds damage to your strikes.

I got stupidly lucky in that I had the aspect drop on a glaive which makes Ravager no longer have a duration but instead drain your vigor (6 per second on mine). So long as you can maintain enough incoming vigor, the active effect persists. I have a video I just did of the effect persisting a minute (it normally lasts 6 seconds).

Further, I had the unique ring drop which generates 6 vigor per second when you have 4 or more stacks of Ferocity. You could probably build to permanent Ravager. At this time however, I prefer to use the glaive with aspect which boosts weapon damage by a percent of your armor value for making Gorilla attacks.

If you think the current state is weak wait for future updates. The class is completely shafted with only one weapon. This will be a balancing mess sooner then later.

Right now I play poison and everything dies rather quick.

Bro this is unbelievable… I am level 46 with attack power of 64??? I can’t do any damage to bosses… they one shot me with my fully legendary gear set… I am ditching this char… what a waste of money

Have only played spirit born this s6

So far looks ok,I’m lv60(30) in T1 now

They numbers looks much smaller now though :face_with_monocle:

Right now its fine for me, but i am playing casually atm and I did get a decent unique early. Based on the few builds I theory crafted, they take a minute to come online and tend to require quite a few uniques.

I’m lvl 42 with 184 attack power. How the hell is your attack power so low?

I’m using the volley build, don’t have a 4th attack yet and have no issues.

I have the dungeon aspect that makes the feathers come back, so that’s a huge help and when I evade, it fires off the feather things too and they’re absolutely devastating!

Quill Volley Eagle Spiritborn Leveling Guide

That’s the guide I followed on maxroll, by a guy named wudijo.

Hope that helps!

This here is why i already hate spiritborn lol, this overtuned damage that evade procs makes evade spam feel like the only viable way that ive tried this class so far. Sadly too late to refund for me :frowning: and now my thumbs sore for spamming spacebar

I hate evade. I have hated it since this game launched. Now, to do any damage, i have to use it. When did evade become another offensive skill? I thought it was just there to make me change my “Stay still button” off the spacebar.
I was excited for the expansion, now I don’t even want to play.
P.S. don’t mind me I am just getting this off my chest before I go to bed angry. I didn’t ask for an evade skill. Maybe I should see if I can bind it to the 1 key.
P.S.S. evade is becoming to big a part of the gameplay.

This is the problem with these threads, and kinda with these games. You can’t really play what you want until you get the right gear, and until then you’ll feel weak.

Of course some talents feel extremely weak (and are undertuned), such as Payback for me, but it’ll still be viable to a certain extent when you get all the tempering and aspects and uniques and whatever that make it work.

Gotta have the right talents and right gear to go with those or it’s just a bad time, and with Spiritborn being new we don’t have any of the aspects from last season ready to go.

184 consider to be “good”?!?!? I am running at 200ish at same 42 and feel like snail :frowning: Btw I used no brain “D4built” vanilla for S-tier with Quill. It does getting a bit better once you start getting better aspects

Bingo! in many cases (over duration of all 6 seasons and pre-season) S-tier builds rather unpleasant to level and they highly dependent no just on full paragon but also on the specific aspects and mythical gear. Based on what I see (so far) - spiritborn class isn’t something you want to play as a first class for season start (compare to say necro  )

Gave up on Hard difficulty, damn near impossible came back after season 1 or release of this game to play expansion. It was not enjoyable maybe normal mode will be better.

Maybe your gear is weak? Or maybe the game is bugged and the difficulty is just randomly getting spiked for no reason.

I was having no real issues on Hard. Occasional boss might dip me down below 30% hp, but I had enough defenses that it wouldn’t kill me. I switched to Expert last night and while things hit harder, it wasn’t that big of an issue.

However, this morning I log into the game and everything was destroying me before I could react. My build hadn’t changed, nothing changed. It made zero sense.
