Is it just me or have other players the same problem with the chat not working? i mean not working at all since lunch.

Somehow your account privacy settings on your account were likely changed.
- go to blizzard.com
- Account Settings (click on your name in the upper right corner)
- Privacy & Communication
- Change text Chat to Enabled
You are my hero. Got Local chat and whisper working just clan chat still not.
