I want to try something with charge and kick—is the explosion aspect any good? I was thinking I could use grasp—>charge—>kick to clear, but what level would this be viable at? I know CDs are kind of high on these skills for the most part.
Unfortunately Damage Scaling is poop even with what appears to be huge modifiers to Brawling Damage. The Explosion is a Flat Damage calculation which sucks. It would be awesome to be able to build a Primary Brawling or Primary Weapon Mastery Skill for your Damage source but it is just novelty meme levels. Almost everything is geared toward boosting Core Skill Damage.
Good to know before I waste my time to find that out Thanks!
I have completed 100 tier NMD and few 97-98 with stomp-kick-leap-charge-lunging-hota. Almost all viable in s1 if you have barber. From my exp. - damage in mentioned build more than enough
P.S. Brawler’s aspect at 2H and no Power kick. Stomp-leap with fury to support HoTa
But your Primary Source of Damage are not your Brawling Skills in this instance. Barber is. There is a video with a guy with broken weapons and no armor on destroying Uber Lilith with Lunging Strike only because of Barber. I am assuming your HoTA is actually doing most of the Damage in your build and Charge/Kick is mostly Vulnerability and Technique on Charge/Leap. Using Bul-Kathos and Earthquake with your Leap/GS?
Go play on ER and you will see that Brawling is not a viable Primary Damage source. The Skills are awesome as Utility, but fall short from being your Primary source of Damage. It would be great to be able to use Kick/Charge/Leap for the sole Damage. Even Power Kick maximizing Brawling and scaling your Max Fury to ridiculous levels is weak comparative to any Core ability.
you can literally take any build that uses 3 shouts and stick 3 skills you like using instead
Deathblow can match a Core skill base damage. With a 10 second cooldown with perfect rolls on Cooldown Reduction affix. Sadly, barbarians are shoehored into using Core skills for high damage output. Makes you wonder why skills even have a damage conponent to them.
Purely so that they apply Technique and Conditionals. Like Ground Stomp. Come on now. It is embarassing. Steel Grasp? Lol. There are so many skills that you are like “Why would I ever put more than 1 point in these?” There are more Passives that you need than you can afford and most of time you slap 5 ranks onto your Core Skill and that is it.
If you’re playing Deathblow on a 10 second cooldown you’re playing it wrong. Deathblow only has cooldown if you mess up.
Can’t really do much when I"m the only one fighting World Boss.
