Character creation options and my thoughts on Server Slam

So I’m not too concerned with the nerfs because I played WoW before and Blizzard is constantly “game balancing” classes and from what I’ve seen from Diablo 3 they did that there too.

That being said I took a Necro to lvl 20 in the last beta & server slam and I definitely had a lot harder time keeping my minions alive and up until like level 15 or so. Boss fights usually had to do most of the fight without or re casting them multiple times. Ashava fight, minions gone in 1 second. No corpses to get them back but whatever, didn’t expect to have them for that fight anyway.

I also tried all the other classes this time to at least lvl 6 and had an interesting observation, all the other classes attacks I could target the destructible objects with but with the necro hemorrhage attack I could not. Ended up putting 1 point in the shadow one with the giant scythe (can’t recall the actual name) but this took up an extra button map and with the minion summoning ability already taking up the ‘Y’ button that made skill mapping very difficult. I get that it makes sense from a flavor thing for Hemorrhage to not be able to target or damage objects because they don’t have blood to hemorrhage but from a game play stand point having to use a skill point on a different skill and having it take up a 2nd button was really annoying. If they could just let Hemorrhage target the trash objects that would be great but if for flavor reasons they want to keep it this way then giving us the ability to use the lvl 1 genaric attack mapped to a button would be an OK compromise. Hemorrhage was by far the better esence creator & the orb creation vital to minion health not to mention the skill point i used on scythe attack I really wanted for another skill but I also wanted to be able to maximize my coin and loot collecting by smashing stuff like all the other classes. I did find that I could use the dodge, (B button), to smash through things bur with yhe cooldown even at only 5 seconds it made smashing through stuff a time drag.

Now I know this is getting long but I do have one more thing to talk about and that is with the character creation options. I hope the full game has more customization option like body type options. Why does the druid have to be fat? Why can’t I make the sorcerer an old man Gandalf still or a crone? What if i would like my Barb to be a giant, rotund guy like Andre the Giant or a tiny little woman with brite hair that spins around the map devastating everything? I would just like some more options. I was disappointed when I wa creating my druid that the avatar was so chunky. I don’t have anything against fat people or characters, I’m a big guy myself, but the character i created didn’t fit what I wanted when I was pictured it in my head. I was able to create pretty closely with all the other classes something I pictured so I would like some more option is all. I know its a small thing and not that important to the actual game but still just like how I want to transmog my gear so it looks the way I like I would like that customization in character as well. Almost all other games like this and even some in other genres have these customization features.

Anyway, that’s my 2 cents. Don’t know if there is time to make these changes or if they might already be in the full game but here’s to hoping!

Hemorage not breaking red breakables was a bug they already addressed as such earlier and will be fixed. Customization should fluff out ALOT in coming months. I’m hoping for some outfits ingame and a bunch on the cash shop…
