Since we won’t likely get a full gear/build swap feature in D4. Why not give us a character boost button for any class we have already leveled to 100 in season. I want to be able to play the multiple builds throughout the season without having to completely reset my entire character. If I take the time to level my fireball sorc to 100 and then decide I want to play the blizzard sorc it would be nice if I was able to create a new seasonal sorc character and boot it to at least 80 so I can play the high end gear.
All I hear is “me want me want this want want”.
How about you put in the effort and just play to level 100 before crying on the forums?
that’s basically asking for a “level 100” button.
i respectfully say no thanks.
that being said, if the build is all you are concerned about, until they add a build switch / save build armory , you can reset all your paragon and change them.
It’s not like you’ll be changing it every day or that it take hours to do if you already planned your build beforehand.
Nothing wrong with wanting what they want. You don’t need to buy it… plus acting like a douche isn’t going to make your view more valid.
There is a problem with these ideas because it’s what the new generation wants.
They can’t work in real life and can’t even work in a game.
They get born and want to be fed til they don’t exist anymore with having to contribute the least possible amount required to get that goal.
We are raising a generation of bots that can’t do anything anymore and cry for more changes in that direction. A generation that can’t even tell the difference between a screwdriver and a hammer.
This is a problem and if they get away with it they think they can buy any confort until it’s to late. We are raising a problematic generation and we shouldn’t confirm their laziness - even in a game.
People who want these kind of things would even buy a fully geared char. Heck we can argue we had D2JSP back then selling this stuff but we gamers back then were a different generation. We didn’t buy that stuff we used it as a trade plattform and legit got wealthy. We worked are as…soff. These days people will log in D2JSP and buy FG.
I bet and I am sure this generation can’t even change their bed sheets.
They can’t work? Or do you mean they don’t wanna work in a world that ruined by the previous generations? Where retirement is a dream; fair wages and living expenses are seen as hopeful. I think you got it backwards on who the problem is… plus if someone has excess funds, who are you tell them what they can and can’t do with it? You just come off as an old curmudgeon who has the empathy of a walnut.
Here is all you gotta do if it becomes a thing… don’t buy it, which it probably won’t become a thing, because leveling is really all D4 has.
Plus, I’ve always found it ironic that the older generations complain about the generation they themselves have created.
Na the generation before me was superior to my generation and after that it fell apart.
Look at them on TikTok. Go there and stay a few minutes and you will realise what they are.
I want this, I want that and if they don’t get it they cry. I know what I am talking about I see it every day at work.
What this generation wants is double income, triple vacation, less work hours a week, no inflation. They crazy they aren’t real. And all that they want in Video Games too.
I work 60 hours main job and another 20 hours part time doing dry walls a week and I still have all chars at level 100 and heck I have time for my family and I even still play D2 while doing that and Starcraft. Imagine I finished a 180 m² home dry walls in under 20 hours while these other youngsters still haven’t done 20 m² in 50 hours cause they can’t work. It’s a sad generation and I have to see it everyday. Don’t wanna see that in video games, leave me alone. If they can’t get to 100 they sure shouldn’t be able to buy it. And if they can only get one char to 100 well thats on them.
They on their phones all day, short attention spans, missing people skills, work ethic sucks, constant praise is required, lack of respect and interest etc. the list goes on.
The person who opened this thread is so uncreative look at his account name “RobotNinja” I’m done with this thread. He is the dude who will spit on a nurse or cop and say he was treated unfair.
This is just one step but a step too much. We gotta stop this from happening. Give them a finger they’ll take your hand then your arm and eat you raw. You will see what we have in twenty years from now when all the good workers are gone.
If we’d do this correctly we should actually add back losing experience if you die. But I only play hardcore so I don’t care that we have no penalty in softcore. Heck if you reach level 100 and die once you should instantly be droped back to 99. Thats the way to go.
Agree. People these days want maximum reward for minimum or no effort.
Cant say that i blame them with this game though…i mean they are just acting out how this game was designed……lazy.
As a millennial, I can’t say the same.
Well why shouldn’t they get more income? Inflation hasn’t stayed true… minimum wage in my state is only $7.25… but boy did rent, healthcare, electric, water, gas prices, car prices, home prices all dramatically rise in the past 30 years, yet minimum wage has only come up $3.45. Don’t forget that these companies are making record profits.
You choosing to work 80 hours a week (though I don’t believe you do), is on you, why should others do that? You seem to wanna push your life choices onto others and make it out to be the younger generations are the problem. Now instead of this non-sense, how about enacting fair wages so people can actually live their lives and not spend the majority of it sleeping and working.
Don’t stress this generation will be replaced by AI.
As for what he wants, normally I agree that they should just play and earn it, but in this case the content is really not worth running more than once, so if they want a button to play different builds that is fine by me, as long as it is not forced on others.
The game content itself has been made so irrelevant, because everything just runs up to you and dies…makes it really meaningless to do even one time, much less multiple times.
This wasn’t to avoid work. I have been playing Diablo since its inception probably like most people, and have hundreds of hours grinding. How is getting a character boost on a sorc lets say that I have already leveled to 100 not doing the work? I have already leveled that class to 100 during the season. This avoids all the “refund all” and clicking of each paragon non-sense. This doesn’t make the game easier. You missed the point if you think this was about avoiding the journey. This is the same concept as the refund all button on the paragon boards.
I am in agree with you in some regard; power creep has already had negative effects on the game. The power creep is D3 hangover IMO. This game was never meant to replicate that aspect.
How about make the game fun. SO that when you do level a new character you have fun doing it.
Remember when you used to make alts because the game was fun and the only reason you did it was because you was out of things to do on your main?
You make alts because you are bored on your main the game is almost over for you anyway. You are just trying to fight the inevitable. Believe me I used to do the same thing.
Sure, I agree with that. Unfortunately “builds” that synergize gear don’t work until 80 in most cases.
It does make the game easier. However the question becomes SHOULD leveling a second char of the same class in a season feel onerous, boring, unfun? D2 you leveled your different spec chars and you liked it. Respec was added much later and is limited. D3 went the opposite way and made the chars paper dolls with totally changeable gear/skills. So leveling did not matter at all. You only needed one of each class.
D4 seems to aim somewhere in the middle right now. You CAN respec, but it is supposed to feel like a major decision and not done constantly. That each char has a personal investment in creating that char/build.
How grindy do they want that? They already put a Seasonal XP boost in the game with the smouldering ash that lets you unlock buffs that impact other seasonal chars. Then, they added the new potion to the Seasonal vendor to boost XP gain 25% more. I solo, but I think group play helps too right?
I don’t think they are going to do boosts to max level. That defeats the purpose of the game, but do keep an eye out for things that make leveling a second seasonal char easier, seeing as you already did the content once.
They shot themselves in both feet when they killed their initial changes to EXP the first time they boosted it. Now that the world is once again scaling with our character levels instead of mLV = CLv -5, we’re back to never feeling stronger in the world content (minus the obviously broken builds and bugged items). What they needed to do for leveling was nix the EXP penalty partially and make it only start applying if mLV is lower than -5 vs. CLv. That way we’d get full EXP at all world levels but still feel stronger even for the D and F tier builds like the one I like playing on my rogue.
Once? We have done it multiple times and its only season 2. The whole concept of seasons is stupid and outdated. This game will be as dead as d3 if they keep making people level and do the same things over and over.
There’s a lot of money to be made on character boosts. Of course that will get implemented. Is anyone so naive to think otherwise ??
At Blizzcon campfire chat they said that they are working on (or at least considering?) a mechanism for saving and switching builds including items.
Lost Ark doesn’t even have Seasons and has Power Pass and Memory Chamber available. If you get a Character to LVL 100, you absolutely should get a token allowing you to create an Alt in the Season to start at the very least at Level 50 in WT3.
Either scrap the leveling system altogether and admit it’s just an arcade game like Golden Axe or something or make leveling an integral, core, unskippable feature and a FUN process as it should be in an ARPG.
Current exping rates are so high it’s ridiculous. It kills any sense of progression and any purpose to have a good gear (because of gear scaling with level). Game is meaningless till about lvl 70. At 90 it becomes meaningless again due to lack of difficulty.
