So I really like how diablo 4 added character creation a bit more in depth than 3. The fine details like facial presets and makeup are nice. It almost seems like in any RPG that it is needed. So I’ve been on the forums the past week and heard a couple cool ideas/ concerns.

Don’t have preset body types. Came across a player complaint that he hated being fat as a druid, lol. But honestly, he may be onto something. I myself can get caught up in the finer details when you are staring at that character all day. Maybe in his mind the idea of a druid who spends all his time in the wilderness looks chiseled. Maybe they look like skin and bones. But I think it would be cool to come across a skin and bones character wearing an antler helm, and going “oh cool, that’s not a Nec its a Druid!”. Likewise, id like to see a fat necromancer, or sorc.

It would be cool if during the char creation process you could change the look of your wolf/ bear form as a druid. Grey hair because they are old? Black hair because they are young? Mangy look? like that would be a total stand out thing they could do. Maybe choose the color of the lighting effects of your spells? Not just for druid, for any class. Maybe I wanna be a gothic sorc that does all red lightning.
All in all, this game has gotten some backlash over some of the choices game devs have made. Its hard to appease an entire world out there with combat, numbers, build types, nerfs, buffs. However, with char creation, everything is a plus. I’ve never heard people bit%$* on Black Desert Online that they are upset because there are so many options with the creation of their char. Sometimes when a game is going through transition, ups and downs, it can be the creative freedom of a player that keeps a fanbase there. People want to show off their personalities, Just like their builds. But why not add more to that and give them an awesome aesthetic look as well! What are your guys thoughts? I mean, none of this is a make it or brake it for playing the game, but I feel like adding these small fine touches really add to the playability of the game. How do you feel? I feel like this would bump Diablo into a new playing field as a game.
