Changing Staffs To DOT Damage Is Not Cool For People Who Bought Sorc Ice + Lightning Mog

There are 2 sorc sets in the shop that come with really cool lightning and ice-themed staffs that match the armor set.
Next season when they change staffs to have DoT dmg implicit it makes staffs literally only useful for Incinerate/burn builds…and that build needs Flamescare wand to even make it somewhat bottom tier worthwhile dmg.

It’s not like lightning and cold builds are going to make use the new staffs with DoT implicit.

Yes, there is a focus option in the mog set too, but these 2 mog sets don’t even come with a wand or main hand option at all…like?

Can we just make staff implicit for something more generic that all sorcs (and druids?) can use? Core dmg, or IDK, anything not DoT?

Yah I agree here. These need to be redone and more generic like wand with vuln damage is something most builds can use. Also druids can use staffs so it needs to work with them as well.

I suggest one of these 5 attempts to change staffs:

1] All stats <— my top pick
2] Non-physical Damage <— My 2nd pick
3] Barrier Generation
4] Ultimate Cooldown
5] Ultimate Duration

Hey! Blizz Sorc is fun. This season I have made shadow minion necro, minion necro, BS necro (yes, necro is my fave lol), dbl swing DD barb, Blizz sorc, rapid fire rogue and started on a companion druid but I got a little burn out so I’m playing something else atm. All of them were a lot of fun. Some obviously performed better than others but I enjoyed them all.

To OP, I respect wanting to look snazzy. I am huge into mogs. I know the staff you are talking about because I paid for the entire mog just for the staff. Don’t judge me lol! It’s my money and mogs bring me pleasure.

I suggest having multiple weapon bases with different implicits, just like we have for boots/pants

This is a solid idea. Can def see this being a good thing.

Fyi implicit are all addictive.

Ultimately it probably won’t even be 0.5% of dmg.

It’s something nice to have but not required. Unless the paragon or skill boosting that specific weapon type.

Very lazy view. Why not just update these more heroes can use? I gave some decent examples I think. I like idea to have all items with 3 different implicits like Illuian said.

Your contribution is meh Howard.

I’m simply pointing out the current setup, implicit is not significant at all.

True, this may be so, but it’s still part of min/maxing your build and something they should take into consideration when putting up their expensive mog options in the stores.

There needs to be more forethought into changes like this when people spend real money on top of the base game they already purchased.

You seem quite ignorant to assert staves are primarily used for their implicit.

No non-barb/rogue class uses a 2H because of the implicit. It’s about the weapon damage and aspect scaling.

So a very miniscule nerf to CC damage is not much to complain about. It’s insanely petty.

What are you actually on about?
Where did I say “primarily”??? Do you know what players mean when someone says “min/maxing”?

Anyway, this topic is not about arguing game mechanics.

I need to inspect every weapon that comes in the set, because most of the time they dont have weapons i’m even using. not sure why they don’t make a complete set of weapons for every set. no mace for a barb? when we need to use mace? yah…

What? Barbs use 2 handed mace in s4 because it has bonuses that busted it, and you always pick a weapon depending on the stat, why would I go with overpower if I’m building a crit char? Comment makes no sense lol

They should do something creative like Staves multiply all gem effectiveness in them by 50% or something like that. Or drop different classes off them that do different things, idk.

There are supposed to be magical implements, magic 'em up a bit.

Barbs: “can we use staves too, please?”
