Changing mouse cursor colour?

Hi, I am not sure if this fuction is in the game, but while playing the beta, I was looking for this option but could not find it, only manage to find the option to change the size of the cursor. I do lose track of my white mouse cursor with the snow environment of Fractured Peaks. Like Lost Ark allows you to change your mouse cursor size and colour.

you can get cursor apps/programs/software if you just google search.

i know… that requires research, yikes.

good luck.

I… I honestly can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic. I have to think so, because no human being is possibly that dense. The OP is talking about ingame cursor, which is wholly separate from your normal desktop cursor. As to the point at hand, I agree. I was losing my cursor position frequently during Ashava as well.

Yea, especially during the Ashava fight. Like the cursor colour change was good in Lost Ark. Hoping that Blizzard sees this post and implement it in.

The accessibility team at Blizzard needs to hear about any accessibility issues. I’m guessing there’s a low chance of getting any changes implemented, but we’ll have zero chance of if we don’t speak up.

I used to use Yolomouse for D3. But they changed it so that yolomouse no longer works. I’d be interested to see if it works for D4.

Will send the email over! Hopefully it gets heard.

Yolomouse is working fine in D3 and also in the D4 closed beta, didn’t try it in the open beta.

Are you playing the 32-bit or 64-bit version of D3? After they released the 64-bit version, I couldn’t get yolomouse to work anymore. After that, I didn’t investigate further.

ETA: Huh, just downloaded it again. It works! Woohoo!

It’s not color changing, but we have a good start - https://news.blizzard.com/en-us/diablo4/23954932/combatting-demons-with-accessibility-in-diablo-iv#Vision
I play 2560x1440 at 1&1/4 arms length, and will definitely be using the middle cursor size at least, possibly the fat one, though that might interfere with movement.

This would be a nice feature, just making it larger may not be enough. By making it a different color would help especially in large crowded areas where there’s a ton of demons and everything kinda blends in together, it makes it difficult to see the cursor.

Happens to me in several ARPG games. But I have a feeling this will be just like PoE and what they did. New cursors or colored cursors will be considered Aesthetics and sold in the cash shop.

I could be wrong about that, but probably not.

To my knowledge, Path of Exile has various cursor sizes and colors as part of the standard UI options. They’re available to me in-game, and I don’t remember ever buying them in the shop.

I think people prefer to stay away from 3rd party apps that manipulate the game in anyways, to avoid getting bans.

I mean, certain applications with harmless overlays resulted in bans.

Also, I don’t remember what kind of a cursor we had for the beta, but the game does alter the cursor and perhaps a 3rd party application would cause problems with that. It’s better if such options are built into the game, although I personally haven’t had problems knowing where my cursor was.

Anyone remember the original Deus Ex? You could change the color of each UI element across the spectrum. My top-secret communications with HQ were bright pink, for no other reason than because I could.

Go check “Account Features” in the PoE shop. I’ve played the game since Alpha (on and off the last several years though), and those are the only cursors I know about. Maybe I missed the other ones you are referring to?
Possibly.

You are absolutely right. Those Cursors I was talking about are Aesthetics in the cash shop but I guess they did add colors and sizes as cursor options to the standard game. I must have been taking a break when they did that. Cool to know. Pity I didn’t realize it when I was still playing.

Daaaamn you are basic…

I’m also in the boat of the small, gray cursor getting lost on my screen in fights. I installed yolomouse to try it out and it was great, except for the BSOD’s it caused. A shame, considering the people that said they’ve used it without issue, but it’s the only thing that changed and the crashes started almost immediately. So, I’m left trying a larger mouse instead of a “noisier” mouse. I’d still love it if Blizz would add an accessibility option to give the mouse a bright color that heavily contrasts the rest of the game world.

Yolomouse is kinda working on d4 for me. When i hover over something the cursor changes into an in game hand icon. Anyone know how to disable that? so that the icon is always the yolomouse one?

This is an old post, but it’s still coming up in the top 10 searches. Changing the size and the color of your cursor is now possible under Options - Screen - “Cursor Color Picker”. They must have listened to yall!
