Is it just me or is was this change not necessary? I thought the Changeling’s Debt provided interesting gameplay opportunity. I put it on my amulet actually, it was a big part of my build in S3. Then I would use rabies and poison creepers and shred to build up poison and trample to meltdown an entire pack of elites because of 225% poison damage at once. Would be great for this aspect to make a come back. Other than that, it’s a great patch.
I’m confused why they’ve eliminated the poison playstyle completely. Maybe because Druid couldn’t really stack poison dots well but you’re not rewarded at all if you. Blurred beast and CD both don’t use entire poison on enemy anymore. Too bad Fleshrenders dmg isn’t increased the more poison on an enemy.
I am curious if in multiplayer, Changeling’s Debt is causing issue by proccing other players poisons (but that is an easy remedy). Otherwise, was fine as it was. Lots of good synergy with Bear Creeper Landslide Reset builds, so not sure why it would need to go away.
Also, with “Shout” being introduced for Druid’s Debilitating Roar and Nighthowler’s Blood Howl, the multi-defensive Fleshrender Builds get cornered a bit more in a bad way.
I asked myself the same.
Atm it provides a different gameplay.
I started recently a druid with a similar setup, while testing several options: it’s really fun and performing a lot better than expected, even if off meta.
With the change for S4, at least for now, that playstyle is over and the aspect seems more a way to support other builds.
All in all, if compared to my main rogue, druid offers a lot more options in terms of build diversity and creativity (paragon, aspects, uniques, affixes, etc.), both for class design and fun into creating a build.
Rogue has a lot of useless aspects and uniques, not really creative, it’s limited in paragon, so when playing Druid is a really fresh air with many options to alter and match skills.
This change to Changeling then will give another option to multiple builds, while eliminating completely a playstyle.
Even if easier class balancing wise, I hope we are not gradually moving into sets or a similar approach with must have aspects - uniques.
Early D4 was better in terms of freedom and challenge of contents.
Surely the itemization change will help freedom but the rest depends on aspects, uniques and paragon.
