Recommend me a starting build. To have a build exclusively for “pure” lightning. Is there such a thing? To be able to quickly slay crowds of monsters with a few lightning bolts, as it is in Diablo 2 R.

Chain lightning was good in beta. Streamers whined it was too good and that barbs/druid were bad. Mind you this was at a level 25 cap in max gear doing insignificant content. Devs nerfed the piss out of it and haven’t touched it since. Current day CL builds are good in WT2 but fall off in WT3. Maybe someone has a good build for it, but I haven’t found one.

Chain lightning is good for leveling up with. Later on into the late game you will not have the best of damage or push crazy high content.
Killing dungeon bosses might be slow the higher nightmare you climb.
Ball Lightning, and Arc Lash are some of the commonly used builds for endgame if you want to be lightning. However you won’t be “pure” you will need to run teleport, ice armor, and flame shield which leave you to your core skill and your ultimate will be unstable currents.
I play chain lighting sorc in endgame. I can push to t65 pit max. Shame, I like the skill, but its so underpowered.
