Thanks for another great Campfire Chat! :fire: :+1:

Infernal Hordes

The Infernal Hordes looks like a great new activity.

  • Choosing between a Boon and a Bane looks like a good mechanic.
  • Letting the Councils from Diablo II return is a brilliant move. They look great.
  • Lots of choice when choosing the reward is great, though it might need some balancing to get the reward balance right.

I can imagine that the monster density of the Waves of Hordes of enemies could be a lot higher to really get that feeling of almost being overwhelmed, but that’s something to find out during the PTR.

Quality of Life changes

Most of the Quality of Life changes are great. The change where the Boss Summon Altar reappears after defeating the Boss is essential, so very happy with that one.

Oh you mean the upcoming Season 5 PTR where you buffed Barb, made Flay and Bash Bleed even stronger, nerfed Victimize, and completely gutted Necro, Druid and Sorc?

Yes, I am all caught up.

Haha, am I caught up? Yes, the incompetence of the entire dev team that work on the classes prove yet again they favor the Barbarian and Rogue and go the game is balance and give the other classes a big fat middle finger. All the while laughing while they main Barb and one shot everything. I hope GGG and POE 2 force Blizzard to close now of you deserve to call yourself game developers. You all are a disgrace.

The feedback so far brings up a question that gets posed in other, similar scenarios.

“Does buying a ticket to an event give you the right to heckle?”

If you heckle a singer, comedian, athlete, etc… there can be consequences for your actions. What on God’s green earth makes it okay to post such vitriol to people who work incredibly hard to put out a product that quite frankly is awesome. Having a few issues that get shared is one thing, but to wish unemployment on someone crosses a line. That is simply not okay.

I GUARANTEE the job they are doing is wayyyyyyyy better than what you would do in their shoes. The abuse hurled at the amazing developer team for being dedicated and updating based on our feedback is just too much. They are doing a great job. I could never be a developer, because no matter how great a change or design they make, there will always be a vocal contingent whining about something.

This game is overall well designed, with a few kinks and hiccups here and there. It is the greatest bargain in entertainment. As one who spends $60 for a couple movie tickets, dropped a few grand per ticket for Lakers season tickets for many years, a couple hundred a month for cable and streaming services, etc… I can’t believe I get so many hours of fun from this game for such a low price. It’s a steal!

Before you whine and spew vitriol, get some perspective. Thank you devs for this game, but even more so for putting up with this garbage thrown at you and coming back each day to make this game better.

Please fire your necro, sorc and druid teams for being completely clueless about the game.

Thanks

I don’t see any hard work, all I see is lazy and bug-ridden programming, blatang favoritism, and making our lives as non-Barbs miserable.

And we get consequences. The mods on this forum ban and suspend us all the time. We know what we are getting into.

And no. If you put me as game director able to call the shots in this game, I would definitely do a better job. I guarantee it.

I like the game, but S5 is shaping up to Season of the Barb. For all the accolades you are heaping on to the devs, can you point to the buffs that are being given to dead classes like sorc to make them viable this season?

Whatever buff you think is given, PTR data so far disagrees with you.

Why should we even bother? You don’t listen to people on the forums screaming how terrible this game is. Maybe you all don’t care now and are waiting to entice people with another purchase with hollow promises. Basically, take the money and run. Blizzard has nothing useful or interesting to say anymore with its games.

You nerf’d sorc again so sayonara! No more money from me!

I want someone who is in the development team who handles skill nerfing to see this.

I am going to uninstall the game and get a refund for the expansion because of a change that happened that I noticed while playing the season 5 beta.

Season 4 was the most fun I had because I was able to finally make a build that made me feel strong. I spend so many hours grinding the perfect gear for my flameshield build. My damage output was not great and I couldn’t complete t100 pits before the timer ran out, but I was still having fun because I was invincible most of the time.

Now playing the beta of season 5 I realize all that hard work was for absolutely NOTHING. You completely broke every sorc build I enjoyed including fire shield. This was the nail in the coffin for me.

You let every other class push insane damage and near invincibility, but after working my @$$ off to get my sorc fun again by ATLEAST making it nearly unkillable you go and say NOPE, but it wasn’t just flame shield. You nerfed almost every fun build sorc players like me enjoyed.

If this doesn’t go back to how it was AND buffing sorc damage scaling I will never come back to this game nor will I pay another cent for anything blizzard again. This is now 5 seasons where you have crapped on sorc players for no reason. It takes INSANE amount of gear reqs to get fire shield playable. Most people won’t even get there! But 500k HP unkillable barb builds are totally fine? Maybe nerf BARB??? jesus christ.

Waves of enemies??? So exactly like the pit, hell tides, and nightmare dungeons? Woooohoooo can’t wait. Brilliant ingenuity on your team. Brilliant.

Where in the world lets a pit fight you waves of enemies? Or a Nightmare Dungeon?

Fighting against waves of enemies is totally different from “pit gameplay” or “nmd gameplay”, except for that you can have events in the latter and that would be some type of smaller version of enemy waves. But geez.

At this point people really need to be creative. They run out of stuff to whine about
I have seen a post here a couple of mins ago where somebody laughed at the idea that some people have disabilities and would be happy to have an OPTION for an extra indicator to help them with leveling. And that “person” really reaaaaaally tries to point out how smart and good he/she is.

Its hilarious to say the least.

Absolutely mind blowing that you and the devs are so silent on the loud feed back coming from your player base. I got a refund for the expansion because I imagine this is the only way you and your team will get the message. Your player base isn’t interested in rehashed repacked content. Give us meaningful changes. The weighting on affixes is terrible . Tempering is an absolute insult to your players. Season 4 sounded great on paper and it was fun up until the endgame where GA items seem to drop less and less and if you do find a 2 or 3 GA item the biggest decision becomes do I sell it or risk bricking it? Necromancer is in a horrible place compared to other classes when it comes to survivability and movement speed as usual. I’m not alone in my thoughts. You all had a great opportunity to right these issues with the mod season patch instead you doubled down on all of it for season 5. All of these points are why I won’t be playing season 5 or the expansion unless some serious course correction is swiftly implemented
By the way Pezradar blocking people for meaningful feedback on Twitter doesn’t help your case either.
Signed, Disappointed

I don’t think the D4 team as a whole care what the people that keep them in business say. If they did, we would have already seen a response somewhere to all of the feedback they have gotten concerning season 5 and how they destroyed 3 of the classes in this game. Yes, the Druid got some buffs and fixes to a few of their problems they still got nerfed. Same with the Necromancer. The Sorcerer on the hand got obliterate with the changes they want to bring to season 5 instead of actually trying to fix a bug that had Sorcerers do damage in the trillions in a single hit. That for me and many others is lazy.
