I’ve been experimenting with a Cataclysm Druid build on the PTR, and the ultimate’s base damage feels significantly underpowered, especially after the 80% Overpower nerf. Currently, even a fully optimized build struggles in Torment 4. Increasing Cataclysm’s base damage would not only make it viable but also open up more diverse build options, allowing us to utilize gear like the human-form helmet rather than being restricted to Werebear or Werewolf forms for damage.
I’d really like to see human-form Druid builds become a viable option. It’s frustrating to feel constantly funneled into Werewolf or Werebear forms just to output damage.
My suggestion is to increase the base damage of the skill to make up for the recent nerfs. This would allow us to build around critical strike damage or pure storm damage to clear content. I’m personally tired of dealing with “snapshotting” mechanics for critical hits and overpower, but I know some players enjoy that style. It’s important that we don’t remove it for those who do.
