Bonus: There are another 9"CAP"s just in the newest PTR patch note.
Hemorrhage Legendary Node
Now bonus Bleeding damage now caps at 45%.
Thunderstruck Legendary Node
Now has a maximum bonus capped at 40%.
Wither Legendary Paragon Node
Intelligence scaling is now capped at 1200 Intelligence.
No Witnesses – Legendary Node
Is now capped at a maximum damage bonus of 35%.
Leyrana’s Insinct – Legendary Node
Is now capped at a maximum damage bonus of 35%.
Burning Instinct
Burning Instinct Critical Strike bonus reduced from 1% per 25 Intelligence to 1% per 50 Intelligence and now caps at 40%|x|.
Ceaseless Conduit
Crackling Energy damage reduced from 3% per 20 Intelligence to 1% per 25 Intelligence and now caps at 60%|x|.
Elemental Summoner
Now caps at its damage bonus at 30%|x|.
Fixed an issue where the damage modifier for the Rumble Glyph was additive when fighting Crowd Controlled enemies. Rumble’s Damage bonus is now capped at 30%|x|.

You know that caps are in place to improve build diversity right?
Otherwise you could have someone just put 1 spell on their bar and push it as far as it will go and just run around pressing 1 button.
So you failed as a game dev and decided to move to a less stressful job?
PS: 33+ years as a developer, and probably invented some of the stuff you take for granted
You listed a bunch of caps but didn’t expand on why they are bad, and with all your 5 years of experience you could also give a good alternatives. Since I assume the point of your post is to help improve the game after all.
They just need sorc to be the absolute worst performing class for some reason. It seems to be their mission. I’m just going barb first next season because it will definitely be ridiculously powerful yet again. There’s no reason to pick a class that’s going to struggle.
The current power from that node is required to compete at 40% of the rate of better classes. Not to mention there is no build diversity because they force shapeshifting synergy for any viable build. You cant NOT be a wolf if you want to cast lightning at the highest available power. Especially now that they are capping thunderstruck. It was a bad decision imo.
Capping might not be bad. But the presentation of doing it explicitly is bad. It feels like there’s already a limit before the player to even trying to make their build they love playing more stronger. It’s a dumb way to put an end to “play your own way”.
Most of what you listed has been capped since initial launch.
The only new caps are the skills/paragon in patch notes. And guess what? Those are just following other skills/paragon that were also capped since initial launch.
If anything, your posts highlights many of the oversights that devs didn’t cap at launch.
you are only seeing this becasue a few reasons, some i can think of 1. released a mess, unfinished and ducted taped.
2. It’s live service/development = games made while we play.
This sets the foundation for later tuning and such as we see now and for balancing out stupidly OP builds/
i am not saying anything should or shouldn’t be nerfed, i don’t play this game much anymore and certainly not that deep. i was simply saying why we are seeing this extreme up down cap left right stuff.
Is it right, do i like it, no i do not.
