Can't wait for the future of D4

I’m eating dinner right now or I’d be playing.

I just want to say, with all the negativity spewed all over this forum - I am here to counter it all with some positivity to say I love this game. I see the groundwork for the future, and that alone is solid as it is. There are few flaws in this game, and even then - every single ARPG launched in the last 15 years had nothing on release day compared to D4.

ARPG’s are NOT for everyone, unfortunately - and I think a lot of the complaints are coming from people who expected this to be World of Diablo, but it isn’t (it may very well grow into that over the coming years).

I am on WT4 on my main, and I’ve been played all of my waking hours since EA launch on Thursday night. All of the classes feel unique, Nightmare dungeons are fun - and I am super stoked that I don’t need a group, as I was concerned the game was going in that direction.

Overall, this is has been my favorite ARPG launch to date. I have 1500+ hours in PoE, and roughly 1200 hours in D3, and I can’t even begin to count the hours I had in D2 in the past.

PoE was trash at launch, and it became amazing. I’m hoping that since D4 is meeting all of my expectations now, that the development of the game over the coming years builds on this amazing foundation.

This game is great and I know the negativity dies down as the game tourists move on.

EDIT: And the story! Having read The Sin War Trilogy- this story is exactly what I wanted, with accommodations considering how long it’s been since that story was written. D4 handled it perfectly.

EDIT 2: The final cinematic is a masterpiece. Literally the best piece of cinematic content to ever come from Blizzard, and nearly all other developers.

I loved the game and the story. Definitely some flaws, like doing Donan dirty, but I definitely can’t wait to see what the game is like in a few years. Have to wait and see what they do for seasons and truly see what direction the game will be heading towards.

I am here to bring balance to the force. I am a champion of objectively great games against the angry mob. If you get in on the ground early, you can be one of my soon to be massive army of facts and logic.

I remember that early in D3’s life, they heavily nerfed attack speed, which wrecked my DH. I recall being so bummed that I stopped playing D3 for a couple of weeks. Thinking back on it now, after playing tens of thousands of hours of D3 and all the myriad changes that occurred over the past decade how inconsequential that moment was.

So far I’ve been enjoying D4 quite a bit. It’s been amazingly smooth up till now. Maybe I got lucky, but reading about how many others are having technical issues that I’ve somehow managed to avoid makes me try to enjoy the game as it is even more.

The game will continue to evolve in the future. What happens now will, in the great scheme of things, not really matter.
