I can’t uninstall the Diablo 4 Beta in the Battle.net client because it only shows me the possibility to buy the game. There is no uninstall button or a “Locate the game” button if it can’t find the game. I can find the Diablo 4 Beta folder in the default install location which takes up around 77 GB.
I’ve tried to uninstall the game through the Windows App Settings but when I click uninstall there it shows me an exception and links me to this site: Blizzard Support - BLZBNTBNU00000006
I assume the problem is that the client is wrongly programmed and after some time you can’t uninstall the beta anymore but only buy the game? Is there another way to uninstall the game or do I need to just delete the folder and live with any dead links?
It would already help if I could just point the Battle.net client to where the folder is but I can’t
Clicking “Scan for Games” in the Battle.net client Settings sadly doesn’t find the Diablo 4 Beta, not sure why.
Just manually delete the Diablo IV folders. Simple and it will be fine. Be sure to do both the game folder and the one in Documents.
Make sure to exit the launcher before deleting.
Try uninstalling it from within the operating system.
I think that qualifies as the same thing here. Which is why I suggested manually deleting it. Which will work just fine.
Thanks I probably will do this. Didn’t know about the one in Documents, need to look for it.
Does it really matter if the launcher is running or not? It seems it doesn’t know about the folder anymore anyway. ^^
I just think of it as a precaution. Once I messed with a folder for one of the games and it started re-downloading it. So after that, I make sure to exit the launcher before messing with the game folders or moving them around.
I keep the games I play the most often on my fastest SSD and the others are on a slower SSD.
Even just backing up a game folder (copying it to another drive) while the launcher is running can sometimes cause the launcher to freak out.
I found a way to have battle net uninstall it. Go to the folder, amd double click on the diablo iv launcher application. It will then show the beta or server slam when battle net opens, and you can uninstall it.
Thanks Incarnate, that was the solution. I was able to uninstall the game.
Was a perfect solution for me too. TYSVVM!
