Can't start game after full download, GPU not supported

I just downloaded the game and tried to play but get the GPU not supported followed by Prism Device Removal Error 1.

Using Lattitude E5470 with Intel HD Graphics 530 and a Intel Core i5-6440HQ CPU @ 2.60 GHz. Also running windows 11 pro.

Please help with this issue. I have done everything I know to do according to other reports in the forum and so far nothing has worked.

Well, for starters, you are running hardware below the minimum requirements:

-Blizzard Support - Contact Support

Minimum Requirements

  • Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 660 or AMD Radeon™ R9 280 or Intel® Arc™ A380

** Diablo IV will attempt to run on hardware below minimum specifications, including HDDs, dual-core CPUs, and Integrated GPUs. However, the game experience may be significantly diminished.

Note the attempt to run on statement here. That doesn’t mean will run on.

Secondly, you are running Windows 11 on a system that isn’t supposed to run Windows 11. Only 8th gen Intel CPU hardware and higher will properly support Windows 11. Regardless if it can or not, it can be a factor too.

However its primary reason for failing is the fact you don’t have a dedicated GPU.

Sorry. You need a system with a dedicated GPU such as AMD Radeon, Nvidia, or Intel Arc.

Oh wow ok thank you so much for the quick reply. Can I just add to or upgrade this computer to get the required upgrades or do I have to get another complete computer with this already installed?

Please forgive me for my probably stupid questions but I’m certainly no computer tech person and I’m sure it shows here.

Typical laptops are usually hardware built to a specific setup. So no, there is nothing you can buy to upgrade the one you have.

Your best option is to directly upgrade the unit.

That said, its Black Friday. There are some really good prices on Acer and MSI gaming laptops that are ranging between 600-1000, between Newegg and Amazon.

Oh my!! Ok, Thanks again but my budget for this is not quite in that range LOL. I’ll see what I can do. Is the CPU @ 2.60 GHz a problem or do I have to have 3.0 or higher?

CPU speed is fine. The game needs a GPU more than anything.

As long as you have a CPU with minimum of 4 cores or better, you should be good. Space is another consideration.

I will do some quick looking, see what kind of a deal there is to be had for minimums…

Best direct option price-wise from NewEgg:

This is nearly the same unit I have, just a bit older than mine. $529

Amazon has some 3rd party sellers with laptops at 500-600. Renewed.

Gaming laptops generally aren’t cheap. The other source would be ebay, but you take more of a gamble there, depending on the sellers. I use ebay a lot, know what to watch for, and have secured some good deals on it over the years. I also sell there, so been around it awhile.

But still.

For a reasonable good nice condition/new condition gaming capable laptop, you generally are looking at 600-1000.

You are very kind, Thank you so very much!

No worries. Posted above a pick from one place.

ebay has some options, but most of the sub 400 stuff are coming from people just selling their old laptop. No real promises that any of them won’t have an issue.

Here is a link to the list sort I was using:

You can then select what GPU card you may want to narrow it down with.

Good luck.

Ok Thank you once again! I will check it out. What is your seller name on ebay? would also like to look at your store.

I appreciate that, but I won’t be able to share that here, forum rules.

Ok how can i get that info? search parameters possibly?
