The quest “The Crux of the Root” does not show me the path, and even when I go to where the entrance should be, the dungeon does not grant me access. I am stuck and unable to progress.

I had the same issue last night after bumping my difficulty up the Torment 1, you have to complete on Penitent difficulty for reasons I don’t understand.
Indeed. You’re in Torment II. You need to bring the difficulty down to Penitent to continue the quest.
The game keeps repeating that everytime you enter a dungeon / Pit, and whenever you’re near a boss room. You receive an alert every single time.
