Why?
Because it is an RNG mess.
I either have to Open 3 Greater Collection of Gold, Material or Gems cache and after all this time I’ve only gotten 1
Or
I have to complete 5 Escalating Nightmare with Horadric Strongroom Affix and have only 2
AND
Complete Escalating Nightmare with an “Astaroth” affix… of which I don’t even know wth that is?
RNG seasonal objectives are

I have over 20 caches sitting in my inventory to keep count and so far still stuck at 1/3
Normally I would finish all the objectives but I just want to be done with this one and I am out. This is such a cheap way to force “time played”.

Took me forever to complete this. Well, not forever but… day 1 of S9 I had all of it completed but this stupid objective.

I found the 5 escalating one to be easier than the whisper cache one. I joined random groups for it. As long as you have 1 strongroom appear in any of those 3 dungeons you’ll get credit for it.
I also ignored the chapter 7 one involving Astaroth’s random affixes. I don’t know if there’s a hidden title for getting 100% for all the objectives this season (there wasn’t last season), but for me, I’m done with the season unless people need help.

I don’t believe there is a hidden title. I can’t remember where I saw it, but I believe I saw it mentioned while scrolling through my Google feed the other day. I just didn’t click on it 'cause I have no interest in trying to acquire it.

They may have finally decided to stop giving away hidden titles for 100%ing the objectives. Just means I can stop playing even earlier.

The Astaroth one refers to the modifiers on the final area of the Escalating Nightmare. You can see them by mousing over the obelisk before porting from the third area or pressing tab once you’re there and looking at the top left of the map. That one sucks hard as you have to do the entire thing before you see if you got one you don’t have.
The Horadric strongroom challenge isn’t that bad. The affix doesn’t have to be on the sigil. The strongroom just needs to show up in one (or more) of the dungeons on the run. You can work on both this one and the Astaroth one and this one should not take too long.
The whisper cache one blows unless you use caches to level up alts. I did for two new alts so I got lucky but I did grind out like 50 caches to do that so your mileage may vary.

hey, i only got the ancestral bounty cache at P234 to unlock the journey. the RNG chance for this cache is just too crazy.

Got lucky today and finished it. Funny part is that when I completed Champion… turns out that the next one, Destroyer was already done too lol.

i am still stuck at the “meteor” and “leap” parts, not sure when the right timing is.
i need to nerf my hydra cast so it doesn’t 1-shot Astaroth and his ride. boring.
What do you mean by “timing?” The condition for the objective is to kill Astaroth while certain map affixes are active during the encounter. If it says “Rage of the Pack” on the screen and you 1-tap the boss, you get the checkmark.
timing of Astaroth’s meteor hits and his Amalgam leaps, then defeat him while those affixes are active.
not sure how to notice those. tried when some meteor hit but still couldn’t completed that requirement.

Yes. It’s an affix on the map like Drifting Shades or Blood Blisters.
i see, thanks. now players even have to fish for a map in the seasonal journey that is gated by RNG instead of character progress.
Some of these season objectives had very poor design. I still dont have the 3 whisper one for greater gold and gems done and im paragon 225.

After over 20 caches picked up in the city, I had a thought that maybe those caches had a better chance of spawning if I went directly to the Tree of Whispers.
Now maybe it was just pure luck but I got the last two I need within the next four caches.
Like I said, it probably was a fluke but I thought I would share.

I always go to the Tree just because I love how it tells me “Feast, Lamb, Feast!”

I saw a trick on this one: Open 3x Greater Collection of Gold, Material, or Gems Bounty Caches.
If you get one of those just drop it on the floor and pick it up two times after that Objective completed.
I did that myself and worked fine.
