Can't Decide What to Main First

Every single day I am afflicted with this feeling of indecisiveness. I will eventually have all classes maxed out, but I don’t know what I want to max out first. Whenever I settle on a class I end up changing my mind. The choice paralysis is killing me. Anyone else feel this way?

I’m just picking what I find the the most fun at first for pre-season and I’ll think about it more as I see how the classes fare heading into season 1.

Personally, I’ll be doing trap rogue for pre-season.

Play as the class that looks the coolest and is the most fun to you. As devs would say - play out your fantasy.

Personally, I’ll main sorc as usual because I love blasting enemies with spells from afar. And also they’re very fashionable looking in D4. That it may not be an S tier in the end doesn’t bother me in the slightest. Looks and fun gameplay trump metas for me.

Druid is fat. Melee is boring. Rogue half ranged - half melee is strange. Minions are unreliable. Druid is fat.
So I choose sorc.
And btw druid is fat.

Rogue is the best answer, atm.

It was always going to be Rogue.

But I have surprisingly started to like Barbarian a lot.
I will eventually have a character in all the classes, just how I like to play. But rogue will be first to lvl max.

I am going Necro, but recently got my eyes on the Druid… also like Sorc, Rogue and Barb… but my plan is to start with Necro, then each season change class until I have played them all. :beers:

I tend to go with my favorites first. Especially if you’re going to take your time. Which is why I am going Necromancer, easy, simple, and a OG class for Diablo in general. While other classes have been given a lot of love going up to Server Slam Beta, if your focus is to enjoy what Diablo has to offer in terms of lore, going at your pace, not worrying about getting better gear, etc. Then choose your most comfortable class first and foremost.

That’s a really nice sentiment, but when I was a Necromancer Blizzard kicked me in my necrotch, and now I have ptsd from that memory.

Well, some people do complain about the nerfs and I agree but they have backtracked some ways but not entirely. It is still quite viable to run with your Mr. Bones army. Up to you really!

Same here, just randomly going with what I feel is enjoyable. I randomly went bow rogue and it feels much more fun than melee rogue or barbarian for me.

Would like to go Druid but the character model is just bad.

I don’t mind Druids being large. I kind of want to go Rogue but I also don’t want to be playing a class everyone else is playing. I kind of want to go Necro but their build diversity seems troubling and I’m not quite sure about their minion damage/durability scaling. I’m heavily considering Barb right now but I just hate their armor. If a cosmetic skin exists that makes them looking more than just a basic caveman then maybe.

Loved all classes but I’ll main Rogue because it suits my ranged/mobility playstyle

Knowing that i don’t watch any premade builds from youtubers or fansite, i’ll go to a self made Frostbolt / Blizzard / barrier sorceress. It was a lot fun to play, quit tanky, and powerfull.

What did you play in the betas? Any particular style or skill you enjoyed most? Any particular play style you like (ie clearing, afk farming, thorns)?

Ask yourself a few questions and then commit on a main for release day!!

For me it’ll be Sorc then Necro, the two worst classes at the moment with current balance, according to the majority of peeps. Barb and Druid seem to be everyone’s end game top picks. Rogue is the try-hard class.

Go with what works best for you Cris!

Gonna be fun when all those new rogue mains because rogue feeled OP in the last beta find out that rogue isnt that OP anymore in the endgame

My 2cents, barb is the answer to all your problems. Nothing, not even demons, would stay in your way after receveing some hammer love on their heads

Necro was most fun to me both betas so I am likely sticking with Necro. Rogue will be next so we’ll see at end game which one I like better and I may switch things up for season 1.

I’m still deciding between Barb, Rogue, Necro, and Druid. I plan on making a Sorc last. I currently am finding fault/issue with all of them.

  • Barb - I wish they had cooler looking armor. I also worry that being pure melee is going to be too much of a disadvantage

  • Rogue - Honestly this is dumb but the only thing preventing me from picking them is the fact that they’re going to be the most popular starting class

  • Necro - A bit worried about their build diversity. I’m not sure if their summons will be any good, or if I do play a viable summon build then will my Necro itself feel weak and depend on the AI of my summons?

  • Druid - Too fat…(just kidding). Something about being a jack-of-all / master-of-none doesn’t appeal to me as much. They do seem like a cool class and it was the class I played during server slam but they just seemed so slow (movement wise) and their playstyle also seemed super slow. It can (and probably will) change later on though.

I’m goin Druid %100.

Druid Werewolf is the most badass thing you can be in this game.
