The quest gets “stuck”. After knocking over the tree I proceeded to the place where I need to destroy the pulsing knot. Did that, broke thru some more barriers and now I can’t interact with anymore barriers. The game is saying I need to destroy the knot but there doesn’t appear to be any more of them. I’ve searched the entire area of the Five Hills I have access to and nothing works. I wonder if this is related to the crashes? I’ve seen other people report that it crashes in the quest. Sounds like something is broken and it acts up in different ways.
Possible work around… at least this worked for me. Before heading into the Tangle lower all your settings, disable cross plat, you know the drill. Exit the game. From a clean start proceed with the quest. All the markers and events worked for me. When Neyrelle goes into one of her memory fits the game grinds badly, like it’s doing some major swap file stuff, but it gets thru. Definitely make sure you have adequate VM/swap file settings.
