Despite having this downloaded two days in advance… the play button is showing as grayed out. When i hover above it, it reads “This game cannot be played yet”. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

This has been happening to a few players due to old Beta information, that software is no longer working. Please uninstall all the D4 software then install the Server Slam data from the drop down on the D4 page.
Whats weird is, I did delete the original beta files prior to download. Starting from scratch again. What would be the next steps if this doesnt work

If this doesn’t work we will want to reinstall the app, corruption there can cause the app to not see the server has started.
· Press the Windows Key+R on keyboard
· Type %ProgramData%
· Hit enter
· Delete Blizzard Entertainment and Battle.net Folders
· Empty Recycle Bin
· Uninstall and reinstall the app, please reinstall onto the C drive
Would this delete the entire D4 Server Slam file I am downloading also? Or just the Battle.Net app?

It will only delete the app files, games will remain on the computer as long as they are not installed into the Battle.net folder.
You might have to locate the game again via the link next to the install button but it shouldn’t need to install anything.
I’ve done all your trouble shooting steps. My issue is the download isn’t even available on bnet?
I’ve done what you said, I’ve uninstalled it completely and reinstalled it. Turned off my VPN, put myself in another location. I have the game pre-purchased.
I had this issue last beta, and the game randomly became available to download waaaay later in the evening. What can I do to get this game available? lol

I’ve tried this and it did not work. Still saying “Diablo IV - Beta”
It seems silly that it just didn’t remain named as “Diablo IV - Beta”.
Any further thoughts/ideas on what to do next?
I have tried to change to the beta client like suggested in other forums/reddit and this hasn’t worked.
I’ve even uninstalled all the game files and it just redownloaded it as Diablo IV - Beta and still greyed out to play. No option for server slam in the drop down box.

I just downloaded the Server Slam Diablo version, not even 10 minutes ago, and I have the “This game is not ready to play yet”. I don’t have previous game files, no corruption or anything else that would prevent one from playing.
Is this still an issue for many people?
What fixed it for me:
- delete LocalPrefs.txt located in “C:\Users\WINDOWS_USERNAME\Documents\Diablo IV”
- Remove Razer Synapse 3
- Update Graphic Driver
- Remove Folder Compression on the Diablo 4 Game Folder. (This one helped against grey screen at Loading).
Now it starts instant, the Folder Compression was the MVP Solution.

I have to uninstall and reinstall Battlenet every time I want to play D4 Slam. Says my Win 10 needs to be 1909 or later. I have 22H2. The exact same thing happened to the Beta test but, I didn’t have to do it for every session. Also it does it on both my machines. I have 2 Bnet accounts. Ideas?
Graphics driver did it! good call I dunno why I didnt think of it considering I just reinstalled Windows
