Cannot read damage numbers long enough

As a seasoned Diablo III veteran the damage numbers system that was implemented was perfect. While there were many numbers, I believe they stayed on longer and gradually faded away, also started off big but shrank over time, and large numbers such as millions or billions were truncated with M and B.

Blizzard developers, please implement the Diablo III damage numbers system in this game.

As a long time D2LOD/D2R player, damage numbers are an eye sore and shouldn’t even be default settings. D3 was garbage btw…

vulnerable popping up is highlighted over the dmg numbers. so you can have a normal sized text that says “vulnerable” and a small 500k dmg number. i even sometimes think there is an item. i have not found the option to turn the text off. we are currently beta testers and this might get fixed in the future. sad times for (AAA) games

The vulnerable constantly flashing up is extremely annoying. There’s an option to turn off damage numbers, but no option to turn off status effects.

I agree with you that you can barely even see the numbers. I’m dyslexic and it feels ESPECIALLY bad, and it feels like an accessibility issue tbh. Like there’s no reason why they couldn’t have made it all easier to read, let alone have the numbers come up ON TOP OF WHAT YOU’RE HITTING. Right now damage numbers can be almost anywhere on the screen.

sroy ot hare taht. ltse hpoe tyeh fxi taht.

There was hot post on reddit with around 1k upvotes for option to turn off this arcade combat text like vunerable, dodge, immune etc. Reddit - Dive into anything but blizzard don’t listen to players. We can all talking to the void.

Call this man a friggin’ medic.

Damage numbers are cartoonish eyesores. I’d turn them off if I didn’t feel like I needed to know that my how my 7K hit is being turned into 240K or whatever. Crit vulnerable against crowd controlled who are also burning and chilled and stunned after my destuction/exploit/charged glyphs are ramped up, oh and I’ve gotta be close to squeeze out some more from the almost mandatory Raimant’s.

It took me a second to realize what they did.

I thought it was straight up Noob Speak for a moment. Haven’t seen that since og SC and D2 days. Nothing like some young’n raging and speaking gibberish as you finish off their base.

I agree that they need to make the damage numbers visible a little longer.
I honesty wish there were player made mods that would allow you to configure the numbers or even better Bliz could put them in the chat window on a separate tab.

I also have difficulty understanding anyone who uses the word immersion seriously. Wait til VR is better and maybe then you will be happy.

to be honest, I dont even realize there ARE damage numbers unless i’m specifically looking for them and not focusing on anything else. I would be happy with a chat tab that logs your combat damage and another tab for damage received, so you can review your fights if you want to. But yeah, larger numbers and slightly longer on screen would be helpful, or just GIVE US the option to set the size and time on screen.
