In the quest ’ Through the Dark Glass’ there is no alternative option to progress except by praying (receiving their blessing) to the prime demons (Diablo, Mephisto, Baal), which I find quite sad.
Edit: I don’t want to change this, just allow for a second option, where I can just go and fight a strong boss, who guards the temple or something like that.

Generally with those games I tend to like being the good guy, trying to help the people and restore some semblance of peace and hope in that forsaken world. Honestly, this is a very easy solution here, they could just say that the blood of Lilith (which I also don’t really like) is enough to grant passage or just fight a boss without the ‘blessing’.
I would argue that its not you doing the praying if that is your concern. You are playing a game. Its like feeling regret for taking out a pawn in chess.

teafan A good point, indeed, I am not very stressed about that, just I think that at this point the game could use some even short branching and giving the players a choice. Overall the story line is super linear, which is a bit dull as well.
I did not think you were praying at them. I thought you were extinguishing the lit candles at the shrines, thereby taking strength away from Lilith and giving it to yourself. That is why they have a red glow when you approach them, and after clicking them, they are grey.
If you have issues with clicking a shrine in a video game, then I think you should not be playing altogether.

I guess I just don’t understand the issue.
Do you not watch a movie if someone murders another person? Do you not play a game if your character does something wrong? Would you have an issue with playing the boardgame Clue because you might turn out to be the murderer?
You are not being asked to personally worship a devil in real life. It is all make believe. Ever play Cops and Robbers or Cowboys and Indians? Goodguys vs badguys? Are the kids pretending to be the bad guys sinning?
There are a million other examples. If it bothers you to pretend, then don’t play. Clicking the shrines is the least of the evil things in the game, if you think that God will hold you accountable for roleplaying.

You are going around and killing the worshipers of Lilith, burning down their churches, and desecrating their shrines to her, which is the opposite…

you have also missed a vital point in this game, we the players are literaly half demons pretty much, Lillith a demon with Inarius a Angel, created us, that for we half demons pretty much.

Nah, they could just make them in Grim Dawn, where you destroy the shrines of Lilith. That would be quite cool. The post is about the main story line and the shrines of Daiblo, Baal and Mephisto. I think there should be a way around those.
