Can you play new season story content on non season Char?

I cant see this confirmed anywhere, I dont care about the battle pass, I just want to experience the new story elements, can anyone confirm if this new story content will be in the Eternal realm?

I know how seasons work in D3 but we have never had a new story added before, leveling in D4 is a complete chore and I don’t want to level again.

TLDR: can i play new story with out restarting/playing a season char ( not asking about battle pass)

Thank you in advance.

Nope. This is your grandpa’s seasonal model.

Have no idea what you are trying to say.

Not sure how you can have trouble finding it, but no.
Seasons will always start you at lvl 1.
You get to keep some of your renown progression, basically map based stuff.
The whole point is everyone starts the season from the same level, so someone who starts D4 with S1 will be starting at lvl 1, just like anyone who’s been playing since Jun 1st.

If you complete the story, you don’t have to do it again, but if you haven’t you have to complete it before you can access the new content.

If you don’t choose to create a new season character you will NOT have access to new season content so no you will not be able to play season content with eternal character.

Season content and story only available when you create a seasonal character.

It has been confirmed everywhere (if one bothered to look) - NO!

The fact that some of these questions are even asked goes to show how successful Blizzard’s marketing team is. They sold a product to millions of people that in fact had ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA of what they were purchasing.

jokes on you, bozos

What a terrible Idea, leveling suxs in D4, people should have a choice to at least get the story elements.

Just make a new character and you can immediately play the new story. What is the issue?

No, not unless they decide to take the feature baseline.

This is called an opinion, and a pretty terrible one at that.

Issue is I have a char and dont want to keep rerolling, as I said the leveling is the worst part.Happy to have one char.

He’s emotionally invested in his online video game character, obviously.

While it may be super weird to most of us, there are also people that role play as
anthropomorphic characters as a personality trait…

No. There is also no confirmation yet if seasonal content will travel to eternal post season but as of now no.

They literally said on the stream today that unless the feature goes baseline it will NOT be coming to eternal.

I think the issue stems from having to start with a new character, leveling, gearing, etc…

Seasons are one thing (with items, gear, whatever), but if new story elements are being introduced, I’d rather not have to start over with a new character to get to the story elements.

Yeah, there is. From the blog post in the Bnet launcher

Once the Season has ended, the character you made and its progress will be transferred to the Eternal Realm . All items you collected, including in your Seasonal stash , will be transferred too. You can take this character into Sanctuary whenever you please, but Season-specific features such as Malignant Hearts will no longer be accessible.

Yeah that’s literally what I said. Unless you already know everything that will be baseline which no one does.

All i was hoping for was we get the story, dont care about the money grab battle pass, even if we have to wait for the season to end, can’t stand the thought of leveling all over, at no point when they said seasons where going to have content did they say we locking it to season only. D3 never had story content so there is no precedent.

I didnt mean sunsetting of the character but the story content being folded into the eternal realm but I suppose not if they explicitly state that the season specific features wont go. Thanks for the info.

Think this is huge mistake, they going to lose 80-90% of the playerbase for sure.
