Why do we need 12 of this and that? can’t you change the cost of stuff down to a normal number like 1? why are some lair bosses 2 or 3 and some are 12? This isnt office space and I dont have 37 pieces of flair to run around opening different lock boxes
Because there are lots of these mats out in circulation on Eternal already.
They value the Eternal economy.
I’ve been advocating for this for a good while now. My idea was to condense all the boss materials down to 2, well 3 now because of Belial. To their credit they did kind of do this for the Tier 2 lair bosses. We have 1 material we can exchange into whatever boss material we want for Tier 2 bosses now, but they still have their own individual mats as well.
Basically my idea has been 1 material for 1st Tier Lair Bosses, 1 material for 2nd Tier, and obviously Belial has his own. This way you can farm whatever content you want and always get materials to go fight these bosses at your leisure. Right now it feels like it’s one step away from going the F2P-P2W model of “don’t want to farm these tokens? buy this bundle for $4.99” and that feels horrible.
Living Steel and Distilled Fear are by far the easiest boss mats to get in the game, where the others just sort of trickle in and there’s no consistent way of getting an abundance of these materials as fast as these two. No idea why they want us to fight Beast in Ice or Grig more than the others.
Sure thing, but the drop rates will get nerfed to hell and back.
The Boss mats have different main sources. I imagine the goal to force players to engage in different game activities, not just the most efficient one.
This here is the issue. Not all activities are equal in giving boss materials. So they could in theory, have all boss materials drop from each activity, or condense them even further to what I suggested above. If people want to spend all their time in a Helltide farming boss mats, let them I say.
it took me for ever to figure out how to get distilled fear. I never farmed for it and always have a ton.
The general strategy of the Devs seems to force players to engage in all the game activities. It is somehow understandable even if everyone has his preferences. I believe that currently players are already doing less Andariel than Duriel for example. Some of them only do her at some point because mats are accumulating in the stash.
Many are only doing Belial
im a weirdo, i actually love spending 90% of my time in helltides. I use that 5 minute window when there isnt a helltide to zoom thru a storeroom lol
I am one of those people, i will not do andy or even duriel on hardcore toon. I actually still die in softcore on my over the top gearred sorc to andy. I just cant dodge all that ground crap, im old and my reaction time just isnt like it was 40 years ago
Yea exactly. People are already going to the path of least resistance. Blizzard just needs to get with the times and streamline it a little more is all. My main issue with the game has always been the timers coupled with the tokens.
What I mean by this is everything you want to do in the game is either gated behind a timer, or a token. When you start out level 1, in a new season, about the only thing you can do at any given time are normal Dungeons, Strongholds and running around the open world killing random enemies, that’s it. World Events, Whisper Objectives, Helltides, Legion Events, and World Bosses are all on timers.
This never changes throughout the entire game. Each activity based on a timer also consistently drops a token used for another activity. You’re basically following the schedule of the game, not your own, that’s what annoys me more about the game.
yeah with today’s age in technology, and so much stuff even tv shows are when we want to watch and not having to stay up until 2:30am to watch gillians island. You can just stream it whenever you want.
The only probably with that in this game, world bosses. That is a fairly big thing to do solo if you arent playing a fully decked out toon. Or if you are on hardcore, I believe my softcore toon can easyly beat any t4 boss in a few minutes (i can down belial in about 7.5 seconds on t4), however on my t1 sorc in hard core, i dont think id even risk trying it.
Would I love to do legion events back to back or have a set number of 10 per day and I could just do them over and over on my time? Sure! Would I love to do helltides when ever? (heck ya, which is why i tend to log in about 2 minutes after the hour, pound some helltide demons and madiens and take a break by 50 minutes after the hour (again i conformed my play time around thier schedule) - after all im playing “yOUR way”… haha still love that “y” is silent in the world of bliz if the next letter is “o”… haha
The likelihood of them changing a cheap delay tactic in players favor instead of their own is between zero and none. About the same odds for an original idea or engaging content.
Yes exactly. It’s one of the most off putting things of the game to me, and I’m sure others feel it too. You feel… rushed, constricted, penalized even for not following the schedule of the game, because you literally can’t play what you want, when you want to.

Also, Belial should be the most, not the least.
Drop rates dont matter if u can Dupe mats to 9999 on the first day on of the Season
As others have said, ETERNAL. I have 2 stash tabs in eternal dedicated to boss mats. Every week before end of the season, i have to go to eternal and boss farm to dump my mats. Its a PITA. Nobody really plays there. Yes people are there, i see them but not as abundant as the seasons. On eternal, i do not sell my mats, i will just give them away or farm the hell out of the associated boss. Andy’s mats I just get rid of. I hate that boss.
True, unless they push them into the materials tab.
None of the boss amounts matter because you can get infinite boss mats by Day 2-3 of season. Get one good 2 GA or 3 GA lego or 3 or 4 GA unique or well in demand runes and you have hundreds of husks by trading which everyone is doing. Bliz wants to make more content viable in the game? How about work on the 90% of bosses that nobody cares about because of duping and entire stacks of husks at 300m to 500m gold which is so easy to get.
The duping issue has never been worse. Its like Bliz has just completely given up. Do something! Anything. Move boss mats to materials tab if you cant solve duping.
“Hey”
“Yeah, you”
“You want to fight Belial?”
“I got what you need if so”
(opens trench coat)
How many times you wanna fight him? Sky is the limit!"
“Don’t worry kid… this is totally legit. I know Belial so I got the hook up”
“Yeah tell your friends too!”
The dev team needs to put boss mats in the materials section. Non tradable.
The duping in this game is getting beyond ridiculous.
I even see stacks of Husks for sale in HC lol.
HC sales for tons of mats. Yeah. Blizz, “There is no duping here…move along, move along.”
