I know what crit chance is from the previous games. But what is overpower and what is lucky hit?
Also what constitutes a near enemy vs a distant enemy?
Near enemy is one in melee range. Distant is outside melee range. Not 100% on the others, but it’s a start.
I’m not exactly sure about Overpower, but Lucky Hit is basically a low chance proc. Some of the stats on the game are straight up garbage. I think devs were high af when they came up with Lucky Hit.
IIRC, they work like this:
You can gain lucky hit effects from some abilities nodes in the talent tree or from gear effects. If you dont have either of these then you will never “lucky hit”. You can gain lucky hit chance as much as you can but the specific lucky hit effect defines the max chance you can have for that effect
Overpower deals increased damage based on health. Unlike crit/lucky hit you can not increase your chance to Overpower over the base 3percent chance. Instead there are specific effects that trigger overpower. e.g. Druid has a boon which gives you an overpowered skill every 10th skill use.
Some of your abilities will have a built-in lucky hit chance. Other abilities will have a modifier with a description like On lucky hit, some chance to stun. I think sorc has a passive to have a chance to stun on a lucky hit. So you can use an ability with a lucky hit modifier, and you can stack all the %lucky hit you want, but if you do not have another ability that will work on a lucky hit, then it does nothing.
Ok. Thanks all. I think I understand. Back to usual then! Stack crit chance and crit damage and attack speed.
it’s worth noting that overpower can apply ontop of criticals, so having some overpower damage up can be beneficial (color of the damage changes) Yellow text is critical procs, Cyan / blue is overpower and when you see orange, it’s Overpower + critical.
Both Critical damage and Overpower have a +50% damage bonus base (as seen from the stats window).
