Can someone explain how to do Nightmare dungeons?

I just unlocked WT3 and all I see on the map is the Tree of Whisper events. I’ve done a couple but I’ve not seen anything related to Nightmare Dungeons and the game hasn’t explained it in-game that I can remember. How do you go about unlocking them and doing them? It’s not explained in the game as far as I can tell.

Basically, get a sigil as a drop (they can drop from the tree boxes, but not always), see what dungeon it’s for, click it, and go to the dungeon. The entrance will have a slightly different look to it. Go run it, and more sigils may drop in it.

Personal opinion, besides a few affixes, they are pretty close to regular dungeons, at least lower tier ones, and can be soloed easily.

Edit: After you run and clear a tier 3 one, you can craft different ranges of random ones and salvage ones you don’t like.

1)Do Tree of Whispers events to get a reward.
2)Open said reward and you should come across a nightmare sigil.
3)Use sigil to create nightmare dungeon.
4)Go to dungeon, kill everything while staying under the revive limit.
5)Upgrade your paragon glyphs at the end of dungeon after completion.
6)Check inventory for more nightmare sigils that dropped while doing the dungeon.
7) repeat steps 3-5 repeatedly.

You can also craft sigils at the Occultist.

Also worth mentioning is the sigils are in your “consumables” tab in your inventory. So you might have picked them up and didn’t even notice.

Blizzard dropped the ball in not having Main Quests to fully explain how Nightmare Dungeons work and guide you. Why they matter. How to unlock Sigil crafting, etc. The Occultist might have had some dialogue. But it should have been a Main Quest on par with reminders of capstone dungeons to ascend to the new World Tier.

I felt very lurched by keep seeing these grayed out tabs whenever I visited the Occultist. Frustrated, I had to rely on third-party sources to find how to use them.
