I’ve been playing Diablo games via PC for years. However, a friend of mine recently purchased D4 on his xBox. I assumed that controller-play would be terrible, but it was shockingly incredible.
On the controller, the character felt so smooth and responsive. The character controller responds to analog, meaning that your character speed will change from Walk to Jog to Run depending on how far you press on the D-Pad.
On Mouse and Keyboard, it’s either Stop or Full-speed run. Not only does it looks kind of silly, but it makes Vaults a bit harder to do (running into traps) vs using a controller.
Resolution: The horse via Mouse and Keyboard works similar to how analog controllers work with players. The closer I hold my mouse to the horse, the slower the horse will move. Can we have the option to allow the same concept for Character movement using Mouse and Keyboard?
Player can definitely walk using MK. I had been playing with controller since S0 to S2, and started with MK in S3.
I am at home with controller and I feel I can even close my eyes and know exactly where I am going. But I think this is more of me getting used with controller. I firmlu believe once I have mastered MK, it’s gonna be the same feel at the end of the day (I still think MK will have the advantage because of precise aiming).
I tried the WASD for movement. It’s not bad I am used to WASD in FPS btw.

They can’t walk using MK, though. That’s what I’m saying. lol. It’s either 0 or 100.
Can’t.
They didn’t give MnK a “walk” toggle. This has been requested since a long time ago.
Imo Diablo games always play better with a controller. Even when playing on PC I strictly use a controller for movement and combat. I use mouse for inventory management though.
It doesn’t need a toggle, really. Just make it similar to MnK horse. The closer you hold the cursor to the character, the slower he or she walks.
Having this be an optional toggle would be incredible.
I’d prefer it not work that way. A toggle is better cause then it’s optional. Worked fine for D2 for 25 years.
