My PC is already a few years old, and to play at 60FPS I have to give up a lot of graphical quality.
I saw this program, Lossless Scaling, which promises to improve quality and performance.
But would using it, or programs of this type, be subject to banning? I wanted to be sure before I even tested.
Does it give you an advantage over other players? If not, you may be fine, but ToS dictates blizzard can make errors, ban people, and do their will within the legal confines of their protected article. Meaning, regardless if this software inherently does nothing against ToS, blizzard can still ban or cancel your account at their will.
Any third party program is a “use at your own risk” situation. Regardless of what the program does, if it triggers Blizzards automated system, your account will be flagged and banned on the next round of ban waves. Can’t honestly say if this particular program would set off the system. Depends on what it’s doing honestly.
Looking at the software it does not seem like it would trigger anything on the Blizzard end.
However
If it were me, I would open a ticket to ask before using it to be safe.
I don’t see how that would trigger a ban. It’s just a graphics enhancement program, much like AMD Adrenalin software or whatever NVIDIA calls their version of it.
It’s redirecting player inputs from the Lossless Scaling app instead of direct, I don’t know if that might trigger some kind of macro or cheat protection detection?
I wish it was safer to consider using add ons.
Not one of the built in ones works? I think D4 has FSR and Xess, not just DLSS.
So like as a side joke, if you lose your account from a false flag, is it really Lossless Scaling?
Thanks guys, I’ll try other means within the game or on the video card before trying a third-party program.
Unfortunately the ticket response was (as expected) the typical automated response to look at the Anti-Cheat Agreement and that Customer Support cannot confirm whether a particular software is allowed or not.
Thank you all
Best not to risk it. (Serious answer)
Better way is not turn on the PC, and just imagine playing the game in your mind. (Also picture the shako drop without having to farm duriel…less serious answer) Do the imaginig, but realistic picture in your mind should be i925 with the worst affixes possible.
I’m curious to know what actual GPU your system currently has. There may be legit options to enable that may help your settings a bit.
A system that’s a “few years old” to me sounds like a system that may or may not have some features to help.
So yeah, if you can, provide the specs. CPU, RAM and GPU, and whether or not you are using a SSD drive, and if so, whether its a SATA based one, or an NVME based one. If not sure, find out what model is listed in devices.
Maybe we can point you to some specific settings that may help.
does having more frames than me advantage other players? maybe Blizzard should just enforce a 30 FPS frame cap.
it doesn’t help that the game stutters horrible for me
AFAIK the program is similar to XESS/FSR/DLSS
Lmao, just because it is in the ToS doesn’t make it okay. Deny me service based on an error, and I am well within my rights to expect a refund (at least where I live).
