Can D4 be loaded on an external ssd to allow me to play on any PC?

Hi everyone, is there a way to load the game into an external harddrive and “plug and play” onto any PC without loading files into the PC?

You’d still need Battle net installed and logged in, but yes you should be able to have the D4 files on an external drive. When you install B Net you can specify where the D4 files are and it will detect them, and update them if necessary.

Thanks for the reply! But can Battle.net be installed in the hard drive or must it still be installed in the PC?

Sounds it should work, but never try. You try already ?

Heya, I have not tried it and it will mean I have to invest in a SSD external drive, was hoping to see if anyone else has done it and it is possible before I make any purchases

You use a laptop or … ? As using some external (except thunderbolt) decrease considerably the bandwith so no matter your hardware the game is go slow…

Yeah I do use a laptop. The thought was to consider buying Crucial P5 Plus 500Gb NVMe placed in a ASUS ROG STRIX Arion Aluminum Alloy M.2 NVMe SSD External Portable Enclosure Case. Hopefully the transfer rate would be more than adequate. The hope is to just plug and play into any PC or laptop without the need of installing anything on the actual machine.

ok then good luck.

Thanks! I was hoping someone on the forums has already tried it to see if it will work.
