and I mean one you can actually play at range. Most everything I see requires you to get in melee range anyway as in Arc Lash for sorc. TIA
Ice Shards is the only good pseudo-ranged build. All melee builds have obscene advantages because most minions just run to you aimlessly at the speed of light.
There’s no point to range build if you literally cannot stay in range.
But, if you want to bang your head a little, play Frozen Orb. It’s weaker, but fun, and ranged. In fact, FO requires you to be in range to do dmg. It does no dmg to melee minions.
Thanks for the reply, that’s what I thought sadly. I mean who makes a game with ranged classes that you can’t play at range? Come on Blizz get this *&%$ together
Pen shot on rouge, really fun and ranged
I can’t recommend ranged as a penetrating shot rogue.
Didn’t you hear? Blizzard was all about that “Class Fantasy” when they were developing this game. What kind of Sorcerer doesn’t want to teleport dive bomb frost nova and Melee range everything??
That’s peak class fantasy if you ask me!
this what im saying right here
arent sorc supposed to be ranged
What’s wrong with it? I’m playing it now and it seems fine.
I run into too many suppressor mobs in nightmare tier 21+ and it makes me want to bash my head against my desk. Otherwise it’s OK.
Fair enough. I’m still level 61 and, like most, grinding renown right now. I actually picked it because I figured it might be a bit stronger in nightmare dungeons. It’s a little simple but it feels good when you land a nice shadow imbuement on a hyper stacked pack or poison a boss for a large chunk.
there is no real ranged class cause mobs will always get in ur face
thats the game they designed
lol
Yeah, the exploding huge groups part is satisfying. The edgemaster affix being disabled didn’t help me much either.
lightning storm druid is a ranged build. not very strong on bosses, but you can really blow up packs with the right legendary set up.
it’s actually really good, that’s what I’m using with shadow imbue. I bunch up as many mobs as possible, drop poison traps then unleash penetrating shot and everything blows up.
not sure what you are doing but whatever it is you need to tweek it
(there’s an aspect that makes the penetrating shot multiply and split btw)
One of the reasons why we tend to like to just blast through mobs. There is no engagement since you are always going to be swarmed by the mobs.
Yep, the Trickshot Aspect. I’m another pen rogue. Either lay down the traps and either poison or shadow blast the lot, or have them run after you so you can group 'em, then blow them up. The Glyphs do help.
Exactly. If Frozen Orb or Chain Lightning are not among the best specs for Sorc, something is wrong. Why on earth would you pick a Sorc and expect a Rapid Shot Demon Hunter or Lightning Melee build. I have no idea why anyone would actually expect that without knowing anything about D4 and only relied on D2 and D3 as knowledge coming into the game. They are trying so hard to make it feel and look like a D2 sorc yet the top builds are so disconnected from that.
This version is nothing like D2/D3. The Rogue is still highly killable, even with the buffs. It’s a different kind of mechanics, because run/dodge is a part of poison/shadow blasting the lot. You end up having to strategize, even with the Aspects and the Glyphs. The Penetrating Shot Rogue is a harder class to play because in several aspects, it’s a real challenge (even in the higher lvls).
