A friend wants to play season 4, but does not want to play the campaign. If they bought the game on season 4 start, could the skip it and go right to season mechanics? Would they have thier mount?
It was possible for S3 to skip it entirely without having played the campaign.
If you’ve skipped the campaign, you’ll have to first reach level 25 before you can unlock access to mounts . Once level 25, you should unlock that same ‘Donan’s Favors’ priority quest that’ll send you to speak to Oskar in Kyovashad
If they’re starting from scratch though they also won’t have any renown bonuses as well, so keep that in mind. The fact they can skip will make it a lot easier to explore and find all the Lilith statues though.

Yep I recently bought the game for my kid as he wanted to play with me and was able to skip the campaign. I think we had to do the prologue then logout and skip campaign from the user select screen and log back in again.

I don’t know why they just don’t get the game, play the campaign, unlock the renown. They can do this on either Eternal or Seasonal.
Once it’s done, it’s done. You only have to do that stuff once.
The benefit is that he/she’ll learn how to play the game, how things work, unlock all of their free paragon, all of the free exp, obol limit, towns etc…
The vast majority of it (campaign and lillith statues) can be done in about 3 hours.
Paragon takes a little longer but can still be done over a few days.
Even if they just start Eternal, do the campaign and unlock the Lillith statues, that’ll be enough to help when starting S4.
The campaign is good content.
