Campaign change

If a character opts not to follow the campaign when starting ; is there an option to change that after gaining levels?

If you select “Skip Campaign” this is permanent.

I’m replaying and skipping cut scenes as it’s free XP.

Except it’s not, because if you skip the campaign, you gain access to Tree of Whispers and Legion events. Not to mention the Malignant Hearts questline.

Actually these become available to you after the completing the campaign.

If only the game explains this when you choose that option…oh it does? Oh, is this being asked by the average Diablo 4 player? Oh, Okay, then go ahead and re-explain what the game has already explained to them.

Which is what I stated?
“If you skip the campaign, you get immediate access to Tree of Whispers and Legion.”

Having access to those early results in outright tons of XP if you use them. Far more than doing tye campaign again.

Shivera skips the campaign and ends up with X amount of XP.

Azrael completes the campaign and gains Y amount of XP then completes the post campaign content gaining X amount of XP.

Resulting in: XY > X

Simple mathematics.

But at the end of the day… play how you wanna play.

That would be X+Y, not XY.

And you’re ignoring the time that X takes.

Certainly, but they had a good point that if xp is your primary goal, it’s likely a lot more efficient to skip the campaign and just do more whispers for xp.

lol you seriously fail at math. In no world does doing the campaign and then extra content multiply your exp (as in XY as you stated).

No, I skip the campaign, do Whispers and Legion events - resulting in far higher than just X exp per time spent. That’s what your analysis is missing, the time component.

Whispers give tons of extra XP and mob spawns out in the world. Clearing 2 dungeons in Whisper gives a free cache.

Legions are by far the quickest way to level per time spent, which is why they are gated.

Yeah it’s been a while since I was in school so fair play.

Still: X + Y > X

Remember you can choose “Skip Campaign” anytime you want if you’ve finished the campaign.

Again, this is also false. I don’t know whether you are trolling or just ignorant at this point.

You can only skip the campaign on a NEW CHARACTER. You can not choose to skip the campaign “anytime you want”. Once a selection is made, it’s made. If you elect to re-do the campaign on a new character, you are locked into that choice until the campaign is again finished.
