please let us zoom out the camera, the “Far” camera view is too zoomed in, it needs to be atleast an alternative to zoom out much more, playing on tv everything looks and feels so large

yea we need the zoom out to be as far as it is when at a world boss or farther, or even near the tree is farther and much better…
I agree right now it’s only slightly further than town zoom, but not as far as mounted zoom. There are parts during the campaign that had a nice pan out for things too. Now I don’t think we need World Boss levels of zoom, but if the option was in the game I wouldn’t say take it out either.
Agree. I hate close zooms in games and being restricted so much by devs.
It may mean the mob spawns will happen every 4 seconds instead of every 3 though since we get a wider field of view, which the dev may not like
The game is all about action action action after all and not about exploration and adventure
I do hope you realize with the camera distance increasing, so too does the required PC power to generate it.
IMO something was changed with the VoH patches. It seems the camera height was reduced and actually fixed in place in most areas. As the terrain goes up and down your toon moves closer or further away from the camera rather than fixing the camera height relative to the toon.
Even with the “far” option selected in settings it is ridiculously zoomed in, the way point at the tree of whispers as a prime example.
I do hope you realize that’s partly why 100% of games have an Options menu. If your machine can’t handle it, then don’t zoom out so far. Imagine if everyone was hard-locked to some low-end PC regarding all of these:
- Texture Quality, Shader Quality, Anti-Aliasing, Fog Quality, Fur Quality, Shadow Quality, Particles Quality, Physics Quality, Ray-Tracing, Water, etc.
And yet these, and many more, are all options in D4 because some people have the required PC power to generate them, and some don’t. And the devs, thankfully, give each of us the option to increase or decrease, enable or disable, however we see fit.
- Were there threads for each of these options where you made the same argument? If not, why not?
Regarding “zooming out”, devs can put a hard-cap slider in the options menu so you can set a threshold for what you think your PC can handle. That way, you don’t accidentally zoom out farther than your PC can handle. Problem solved. Easy. Everyone’s happy.

The more I think of it, you’re exactly right. Please leave it zoomed in. Being able to play D4 from across a living room really harkens back to the early days of the Diablo franchise, where console players were the life blood of it, paramount in making the game what it is today. It’s truly a console game at heart.
It will make future patches easier, as well, to have everyone on the same level playing field with the same options.

Im only watching the small screen at the top right corner with maphack active (Subo merc powered) when im playing
Also remember zone content has dynamic zoom. Some areas are super zoomed out. Some are not.
i hope you realize that most systems can handle a simple game like D4 for a max zoom like it was in Diablo 2… the current zoom settings in game is like 1/4 of my screen into one giant one and thats on 1440p and i get 180 FPS completely maxed out on all settings with my 7800x3d 7900xt build.
Sorry to hear your portal to the world of Sanctuary is a blurry 2k one.
