Where do my fellow Rogues hang out? Why is the Rogue forum so dead? Is it because everyone is happy with their Rogue, so there’s nothing to complain about? I’ve played a Rogue every season since the beta and would love to meet more Rogue enthusiasts in the game.
Im playing falconer in Last Epoch. Demonhunter in D3 s32. Ethereals are awesome. Will be back in 2 weeks.
Game always losses its steam after the PTR, feels like playing a worse Rogue and plan to run one in S5 so why bother at the moment.
I play my Rogue all the time. I’m having fun. No point in posting.
In the Spiritborn sub-forum lol.
I’m looking forward to finally being able to play a straight-up Flurry build in season 5, and I’m hoping it can actually do well for once. Maybe I can even go Poison Imbuement- which was not possible before with Flurry due to it’s low base damage. My worry is Blizz is buffing basic skills to astronomical levels again so this might be the 3rd season in a row where you have to run a ranged Basic (yes, Puncture is ranged) or stick with ranged Core as a Rogue.
At least with the Spiritborn I’m guaranteed to be able to run a good melee build.
Yeah, I’m concerned that Rogue will lose its dexterity-based melee identity with the introduction of Spiritborn. All I can hope for is that Rogue remains the top ranged class, until they let Barb able to throw axes.
I’ve leveled every class and multiple builds of every class to 100/21 and have decided that most of that was so not worth doing ever again that I have decided to basically just do one Rogue every Season from now on and leave it at that. I mean pointless is one thing but no fun and pointless is just self harm.
Not much to do at this moment of the Season and Season 5 outside of changes doesn’t even seem like a fun theme. The forum may uptick after the Campfire and when the new patch notes drop.
I play all Ranged Rogue builds as melee, so it doesn’t bother me too much where certain skills lie.
Barrage or Flurry in season 5?
As the main focus of the build? Barrage imo, unless campfire shows otherwise.
I will either be playing Barrage or Grenades (w/Flurry?) in August. Undecided whether I will play the season though.
I am having trouble motivating myself to play D4 lately. That’s why I’m not there.
I love the rogue and sorc classes, and used to play for hours every day. I suspect that it’s not a rogue shortage, but a player shortage.
1.4 was a much welcome reimagining, what we wanted at release. Blood Maiden is fun to farm. There’s 8 bosses, and the only one I enjoy every time is her. It’s not about difficulty. She’s not hard to kill. She’s fun to fight. If the devs read these, that’s what we want… FUN!
The table based, heavily skewed against desirable affixes “random” rolls on affixes and tempers has bricked too much premium, hard gained multi-GA gear. The bug that picks the same affix if we reset the Masterworking also bricks my gear. I’m sick of grinding to find a replacement and then running boring pits to MW it again. I’ve seen the table. It exists. It’s real. It’s not my opinion. It’s a fact. It’s why we get the same garbage affix many x’s in a row out of a 1 in 5 chance to get what we want. It’s not Chance. It’s rigged, like the old mob run vegas casinos were in Vegas pre-1980 were. The most desirable affixes have the least chance, things like max life, overpower dmg, DoT dmg, etc roll consistently and are on most drops for this reason. They are at the other end. Very high chance.
That’s probably got a lot to do with lack of players.
I understand your frustration. Even though I’m enjoying Season 4, I can’t bring myself to ask my real-life friends to come back to join me. They quitted after season 2. The constant risk of bricking items is tough, and I also got upset when I bricked the only upgrade I found in a week. I did get over it but… I don’t want my friends, who play a lot less than I do, to go through that same disappointment.
Still here, not been playing much coz of other stuff needing attention but still plugging along when I can
I am patiently waiting for my new god: Umbracrux The Vibrant
It reminds me of the Sentry of Demon Hunter. I had it on all of my Demon Hunter builds.
I just switched my rogue from Andys Puncture/Flurry to Heartseeker to Rapid Fire, and wow, is Rapid Fire fun. A bit squishy though. Not sure I will try it on my HC rogue.
Since I don’t have very good gear on him, I am trying it with my spare Doombringer and Azurewrath, so not great, but not bad either. Good enough to complete NMD 100s anyway, even though that is not saying much these days. I think with some real gear, it can go much further.
I run a weird Andy + Doombringer Heartseeker build that’s excellent for AOE and survivability, allowing me to farm while multitasking.
I’ve also been leveling my Eternal Hardcore Rogue that I left behind in Season 1. Experimenting with different tempering and key passives has been a lot of fun, especially with a non-meta build. Knock on wood, I’m currently level 83 and haven’t died yet. Those high Pit runs in Season have paid off—I’ve learned to avoid standing in pools of poison or fire.
My problem with HC rogue is caltrops. I hate that you have to go up to the mob into melee range to drop the caltrops. I like to play HC rogue at maximum distance, so caltrops totally hoses me on that. We should be able to throw caltrops like we throw grenades.
Good point. I do have caltrop on my skill bar on HC but I rarely use it. Maybe I should replace it with Shadow Clone. Another unstoppable skill doesn’t hurt.
Yep right on there. Look at what wudi said about enchanting or tempering. It’s rigged. This is Blizz’s way of forcing the players to grind longer… if they were going to make certain affixes rarer, this should be made very clear in The game UI. As it stands there is no indication whatsoever
