Caged Heart of the Sacrilegious problems

Item description says specifically as it follows:

  • “Walking near a corpse automatically activates a Corpse Skill every second[…]”

What the item on it’s actual state actually do: Automatically activates any Corpse or Summoning skill (Raise Skeleton).

That occurs following the priority list below:

Raise Skeleton (if the number active minions is below current player’s max) > Corpse Tendrils (following a cooldown) > Corpse Explosion.

As far as I understand, this shouldn’t even revive minions since the Raise Skeleton skill does not have “Corpse” tag on it, but is instead a “Summoning” skill, even as it consumes corpses. They should either fix it for not reviving minions at all or at least ajust the heart description.

Anyway, I think that’s not even the big deal here, I wouldn’t care if they keep the effect of reviving minions without activating priests since that’s awesome.
The REAL problem is that currently when it activate Corpse Tendrils it actually CONSUMES the corpse to do it, when the skill specifically says it shouldn’t. Also, it takes a moment for the corpse to really disapear after doing that, leaving a feeling that it hasn’t consumed it and leads you manually casting CP on top of it.

Yeah I don’t mind it summoning skeletons automatically. Though I guess I keep my skeletons healed up fairly nicely because I’ve never really noticed that.

The REAL problem is that currently when it activate Corpse Tendrils it actually CONSUMES the corpse to do it, when the skill specifically says it shouldn’t.

I also noticed when it automatically activates Corpse Tendrils it does consume the corpse which is definitely a bug and annoying.

It is kinda fun having corpse skills automate on the battlefield, but between the reduced damage and it causing Corpse Tendril to consume corpses, I think I’m gonna pass on this heart for now.

Is there really a priority between Corpse Tendrils and Corpse Explosion though? From my experience it seems like it just randomly alternates between the two. I’ll go an entire dungeon without manually activating Corpse Tendrils, my cooldown reduction is very minimal, and it’s still alternating between those two skills as little as every other second.

There’s definitely a priority and a cooldown. if you just have a corpse explosion it activates every second, if you just have corpse tendrils it seems to be 4-5 seconds.

my only question is… do u want the left number or right number…

as in, its saying that it was cast skill at reduced damage meaning i should aim for the 20% instead of the 30% so i get more damage out of CE right?

You are right.

You’ll want to aim for the lowest % number possible, since this is the amount of reduced damage the CE will do when activated by this heart. This is a kind of balance to compensate for the autocast. The lower the % you get, the closest to the original damage you’ll get.

IMO, the loss of 1 corpse every 3-4 seconds is well worth the insane amount of vuln time, stun time, and pixel stacking. Not to mention how fast it fills stagger bars.

Yeah probably still worth it once you have the gear to create a lot of copses with ease. But the description should still be changed then to say “When Corpse Tendrils activates automatically, the corpse is consumed”, cause otherwise it is very clear in the skill description that it does not consume a corpse, and the heart simply activates said skill.
