Am i reading this incorrectly?
Each Minion drains 1.0-2.0 Essence per second but deals 50-75% increased damage. With no Minions, this bonus applies to you and drains 5 Essence per second.
It should increase Minions damage if i have some on my bars and alive.
Yet there is no increase on either the Golems tooltip or any damage numbers on any minions between wearing the heart and not wearing it.
I get the damage bonus to Myself if i have no minions. But no dmg buff to minions if i have them.

Tooltips are broken you need to test with real hits.

Yes i did as much testing as i could and see no difference for all 3 minion types.

That’s lame but not surprising. Lots of very very obvious bugs that indicates little or no testing.

This was the one big buff to minion builds and it doesn’t work. This needs to be on the priority list since it is build defining to make minion builds viable in the endgame unless you go the mendeln route and are lucky enough to find it.
I really hope this gets fixed quickly.
Edit: did some more testing - seems the multiplicative is not working well - 80% multiplier adds only 30% dmg. See results further below

minions are not viable because they do very little damage. +70% won’t make any difference. E.g. if 1 minion hits 5k, great feast heart will just make it to hit 6k. comparing to 70m hits of other classes with Malignant hearts, that is just nothing, All the viable minion builds you can find are actually either do dmg from ring of mendlen or from player’s damage itself (e.g. shadowblight, CE, etc.) and minions are more like a 10% of the total dmg output and serve to imply ailments and as meat shield.

If this is true I just can’t with Blizzard anymore. I have been messaging the developers since beta about all of these bugs. There is a near zero percent chance that they are unaware of these bugs. Like we aren’t even asking for buffs we simply want the build to function and that is too much to ask apparently.
Yes the Damage is still bad on minions. I am at lvl 76 atm and I can get my cold mages to deal 12k dmg if I use most buffs. I guess absolute top damage will be around 20k each when I get the paragon board well set up.
We really need the heart and this bug has to be fixed. That would at least make the summons deal some ok damage - still miles away from the meta builds.
I also wonder about the blighted aspect. It increases your damage by 120% (x) on a ring and it increases your attack power but I don’t think it increases minion damage like it should. It is very hard to test since you need 100 damage ticks to make it proc - so many damage numbers and the randomness of damage in the weapon range make it really hard to see if it even works.
At 30% (what minions get) it should still apply 40% more dmg to them I guess
And while blizzard is at it - the new heart that reduces the resource drain effects is not working with the heart of the great fast neither. From the wording it should definitely lower the essence drain by A LOT but it doesn’t do that.
So the minion related hearts really need to be looked at. A dev answer that this issue is being looked at would be much appreciated!
There are so many necromancers who want to enjoy that summoner fantasy - make it happen!
I did another test today and while it is still not optimal to test with the damage ranges I tested the bone golem one time with the heart of the great feast the other time without. There were no mods that would affect the non-crits and I only looked at non-crit damage.
As test-monsters I used the werewolves northwest of Menestad and I removed thorns and hellbent commander from the skills to have somewhat valid test results.
Results were (not 100% accurate but close enough):
2100-3500 hits without heart
2800-4500 hits with heart
= ~30% more dmg instead of the 80% multiplier!
That is the reason why we thought its not working - the effect is minor for the big downside of this heart. Please take a look at it and make it a real multiplier that is not additive with any other damage mods
I am gonna see it for myself when I get it. I am not making conclusions right now.
To OP, how do you measure Minion’s Damage? We dont have Damage Meters like on World of WarCraft.
Results were (not 100% accurate but close enough):
2100-3500 hits without heart
2800-4500 hits with heart
That’s about the same damage increase that I saw on Blighted Corpse Explosion during my tests. With a x100% feast the ticks went up from ~300 to ~400.
It’s probably doing to same BS 30% scaling for minions that nearly everything else does.
Either that or it is not multiplicative damage.
Another thing is I haven’t yet placed the golem glyph into the paragon board. Once I get around 200% more golem damage that might reduce the added damage even further to 15% or so if it is additive damage.
But that 30% minion scaling thing could as well be the case.
Whatever is the cause of the bug it needs to be fixed.
It doesn’t work on yourself either. I tested it on my bonespear build and i got less than 30% extra damage. It seems like the damage is additive instead of multiplicative. The tal rasha heart for sorc has the same problem.
Yep, I can confirm. My testing showed the same.
A youtuber has now shown the bug as well - it goes to the all damage stat of the character and that is being additive

It’s not a bug. It is well known, or at least should be, that the multiplicative bonus comes from the Critical Strike calculation and this is why you focus on building Crit and Crit Damage to amplify the output. Increased damage calculation occurs before multiplicative. Think of it as the ‘base damage’ because that is what it’s boosting. You take that number and then apply the multiplicative calculation which is whatever your Crit Dmg % is.
That’s incorrect, the tooltip contains the indicator and not a [+]. There are global x% multipliers and this is worded exactly like them. Some examples would be the Blighted Aspect or the Flesh-eater paragon node.
You deal [50-120%] increased damage for 6 seconds after the Shadowblight Key Passive damages enemies 10 times.
Consuming 5 Corpses grants 40% increased damage for 6 seconds.
These are in fact global multipliers to all of your damage.
Huh. That’s interesting. Okay so it shows his rank 1 Reap is 801-979. You multiply 801 by 1.51 (151%) and it comes out to 1209.51. His very first hit after he equipped the ring produced 1,225. That looks like working as intended to me.
Wukong wouldn’t know. He stacks +resists over armor, life, DR
