I did. only mentions rules on selling items/services, advertising said services and gambling. Nothing about the buyers perspective.

I am not here to poke fun at Blizzard. But I did know it was against the EULA. That was not my question. My question was more philosophical. I guess a better question would have been:

Do you think people that buy mats for real money consider themselves cheaters or just practical?

Since there is no way of knowing if I am grouping with someone who bought their mats, unless they just admitted it, the only way to truly be sure you are not is to never group with anyone. That seems to be removing a large part of the game.

Since you need 5 Ubers to Salvage for the 1 you want, it would seem like Blizzard approves of buying 3rd party asset. I meanā€¦ why else would they made such a ridiculous patch when it is IMPOSSIBLE for a legit player to earn enough Duriel mats to obtain 5+ Ubers.

itā€™s pretty clear if you ask me.

but thereā€™s no way to know if the mats you buy are dupped (cheated) or not.

and also no way for blizzard to know if the trade was made with real money or not. so if blizz would start banning people for ā€œtradingā€ mats they would face a huge backlash (because of them not knowing if itā€™s legit or not)

Price for duriel mats went up 10 fold since the purge.
Not that I bought any , but I do find it intriguing :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

though, mats shouldnā€™t have been tradeable in the first place in my opinion

I saw this as well. Never bought any myself but I have checked the sites just to keep informed. The price indeed has increased 10 fold which seems to suggest Blizz was successful in stopping the duping and the Chinese are grinding them the hard way.

Letā€™s stop kidding ourselves, folks. Blizz hardly did anything to botters/cheaters in D3 and I doubt theyā€™ll do anything about exploiters, dupers, and RMT in D4.

They are all bark and zero bite.

I bought mats and got banned. Whether or not they were duped i donā€™t know but they probably were. I just didnā€™t find it super fun to run hell tides over and over then fight a boss and then fight duriel and have a very, very, VERY slim chance at an uber. Itā€™s something i definitely regret. Miss playing with friends and family but i messed up. I own up to it and Iā€™m doing the punishment. Just wish it was a suspension first but thatā€™s it i guess.

It isnā€™t cheating to buy mats with real money but it definitely is against the ToS and an automatic ban. Cheating would be more like duped items, hacks, etc.

Iā€™m assuming he bought a new key, but not sure if being banned in game, automatically bans you in forums.

yes it bans you from forums because the forums require a valid key and once banned your key is no longer valid
