Butcher needs changed or removed

Under no circumstances should any creature in this game function the way this butcher does. Completely ignoring minions is one thing, as broken as an ARPG can make it out to be. The fact that there is an extensive list of monsters that ignore minions, even when taunted is in an of itself bad game design, but to have a mini boss that not only ignores minions, but even has anti minion measures actively punishes people form playing an entire style that is built into the game.

Were the butcher act like many other bosses, and simply attempt to attack players from a distance, or begin focusing on those minions when completely surrounded, it would be no issue. Were the butch to simply charge on occasion or use an aoe to strike you as well as minions, fine.

But as it stands, the butcher is tried and true broken and needs to be temporarily removed from the game to be completely rebuilt, or permanently removed and simply retired from the franchise at this point.

The butcher should not have multiple, fast activating attacks that cause significant, long duration slows that are more or less unavoidable. It should not have a movespeed that overwhelms players even if they have a dungeon relic giving them the increased move speed buff. It should not have a no cooldown stomp that pushes all close range targets away and slow them. It should not have a charge that also stuns, and allows for an immediate followup combo.

Were any of these blocked or intercepted by the minions, or if the boss were to be taunted by minions, or if minions were able to body block or trap the boss, they would not have as much of an issue. But as it stands, the butcher is broken at a core, fundamental level. I mean, ALOT of this game is broken at a core, fundamental level, but this is simply another iceberg that is easily going to sink the titanic.

so u wanna remove the most fun thing which can happen in a nmd cause ur build sucks ? nah thanks

is the party why the enemie is a challange / strong thats like to whole conecept of the enemie u big brain

Only real issue i have with the Butcher is his barrier , if u strugle with single target dmg on ur build it often takes u quite a time to get the barrier down and after a few atacks that barrier is back up . so ur basicly 80% of the time gething the barrier down and the other 20% actualy dealing dmg to him . Other then that i dont rly mind him being strong and a challenge . You could make him focus more on atacking pets perhaps but lets face it . if he’d focus on ur pets then he would drain ur army in mather of seconds anyway and by doing so removing ur whole dmg output against him .

Only thing wrong with him is the use of time dilation to make him 5x faster than he ever should be. Fighting him with Drifting Shade is the clearest example, as the shade moves at like 5x normal speed and respawns much faster than the rest of the dungeon

I think the problem lies with the player power relative to the content you’re doing.

Up until around level 70, you pretty much constantly find gear upgrades, which leads to a constant increase in power, which makes the content you do at that level pretty fair, including the Butcher.

After level 70, you’ll very rarely find upgrades, and even those ones are small upgrades.

I haven’t found a single decent upgrade after around 75, and just encountered the Butcher at level 88, not a fun experience, it took me around 5 minutes to kill him on my full summoner/minion necromancer.

I haven’t had any real issues with him at level 70 or lower, those were fun and fair encounters, only ever died to him once before, due to being CCed and the minions behaving like dog poop.

The game punishes you for leveling past 80, no gear upgrades, and the power the player gets from the remaining paragon nodes they could unlock till 100 is abysmal compared to how much more powerful the enemies become with each additional level.

So the problem isn’t the Butcher on its own, it’s how the game is designed and they should seriously rework itemization and all the sources of power at the player’s disposal, not just straight up buff everything little by little until there are no more complaints, massive rework of all systems is what’s needed.

But I do understand everyones frustrations, I don’t think anyone wants to play a super easy game, but a well designed, fun, fair one.
