It doesn’t. The most I’ve seen someone do is around 150 million in one hit, and that hit involved a boss-killing build that can hit that hard only once after some set up/debuffing – it can’t repeatedly hit that hard. If you mess up the set up, you’re screwed. Repeatedly hitting for quintillions, or even trillions, while other builds hit for a billion times less , isn’t even in the same galaxy as a specialized one-hit build that hits for 50-150 million once and then has damage down time.
And that other game isn’t in its first season. It’s a glorified beta with half the campaign, half the classes, half the skills, half the weapons, and rigorous balancing all missing. It’s not a good comparison.

I just wish there were plenty of very strong skills per class (as in Pit 130+ viable with proper gear/glyphs/passives).
Right now, there’s sadly a huge difference in initial farming speed between a Pit 100 capable build (i.e probably the vast majority of skills) and a Pit 140-150 one. One will be stuck for a while in T3 until paragon 150-175, while the other one can unlock T3 almost as soon as it hits lvl 60. I’m pretty sure that having to gradually progress from T1 to T4 over a few dozens of hours is the intended way to play, so why doesn’t Blizzard take care of the skills that destroy Pit 150 during the PTR if Pit 150 isn’t supposed to be achievable to begin with? They don’t care, and having a balanced experience doesn’t seem to sell as well as having or two busted builds that are so stong that the server crashes. It’s all about the money I guess.
Edit : I’m not asking for a 100% balanced play. It won’t happen, but the strongest skills shouldn’t do more than 4x or 5x the damage of what the rest of the pack does. Right now, it’s all about stacking multipliers that are either passive or easy to apply. Some skills have inherently more of then, and having such high multipliers is part of the problem to begin with.

Lmao. Guys who werr very happy about SB nerf must be very upset now. I have told that even after nerfing SB there will be next god tier class. And after nerfing druid in season 9 nothing will change haha
What I absolutely hate this season is all the snapshotting required to dish out that dmg. Playing dance of knifes rouge and I have to play 5 button piano to survive t3.
Once I saw that the druid build there also requires some I just left the game. I’m done. 2 characters nearly maxed out… only rewarding stuff are the witchtides. 2 days doing that I dont feel anything anymore.

all the devs’ attention seems focused on nerfing the sorc into the ground.

Here is what i think.
If you have an arpg where your journey starts with 5 dmg and the journey ends with
43403520784786205873456972835834265 dmg
then…
CHAR PROGRESSIN IS
This is just redicilous. It’s dumb. Nothing more. The way Blizz approaches this game and dmg calculation is so stupid you cannot fathom it.
BTW people where asking for Stat squish and smaller numbers. And they agreed to make a stat squish. And yet they managed to multiply the dmg by thousands or millions.
They are so effin amateurish it’s like you go to the hospital with a cut on your arm and the doctor amputate your leg. That is the level of incompetence.

Sounds like you never heard of Barbs doing infinite dmg I see… next!
Yea I went back to PoE2.
Will play that until Wilds or Civ7.
That might be a thing if Druid cosmetics weren’t useless because we don’t see them in either bear or werewolf form!
They found a group that they can milk for money with the least amount of effort. They aren’t going to change that formula. Why would they change? The fan bois will never quit.
And because they won’t post fix it and wont buff classes that need help mid-season, we are stuck with the bad choices for months all because some people whined their broken characters got nerfed.
Are people going to cry about dr00d for the next three months now?
Report it and move on or play it.
Otherwise…

lol you seem unhinged
I’ve moved on. Back to PoE2.
The devs and the literal franchise manager have told you (time and time again) they want a broken game, and, every season, they deliver a broken game.
Where is the disconnect, between their words and actions, that people just aren’t understanding what this game is?
If the goal is: “We want players to break the game!” – Rod Fergusson
Then that is exactly what you should expect to be delivered: a broken game.

What people ask this? All the posts on the forums ask for balance same on x, so who are these people? The devs? Would make sense they don’t have to worry about fixing it for a few months, less work for them
There was a loud group back in Season 1 where they nerfed a lot of builds and reduced player power by a lot and they all screamed about it.
I also think the mentality of “Let the builds be broken we will fix it next season” is awful. Just deal with the few people that will be annoyed and keep trying to balance it as many times as needed mid-season.
The old meme of “Fun detected fun destroyed” came up whenever a nerf to a powerful build happened and well… here we are now.
THIS however, seems more like a bug than a feature, and they do tend to fix bugs like this without waiting for the end of a season.

Well, I was really emphasizing the input method (controller)…
And by ‘developer console’ I meant their computers with the developer kits in them. Which ofc use M+K, so I was being absurd.
But there’s a ton of in-game evidence that the game is built around controller… and I’m willing to bet most of the devs play on controller, and probably all their testers too (if they exist).
The UI looks much better & more intuitive now than in the past… but this controller bias is still there (hence “console” bias… b/c building the game around a console interface is more efficient & cheaper… it’s one of the reasons the map UI still sucks so hard).
PS. They can emulate a console build on PC I bet, so booting up an actual Xbox or ps5 probably has to do with checklists & seeing if it runs ok.
Who in tarnation is “Rob”, and why should anyone care what they say?
